Ridiculous Process to Replace Key Fob

I'm in somewhat of a similar boat. I only have one key FOBfor my 2017 Bolt premier and would like to get a second one without shelling out $$$$ to a dealer. It sounds like getting a replacement transmitter online is pretty easy, then it's just following the steps in the manual?

You can do this by yourself. Look at page 37 of the manual.

On page 37 0f my manual it is about seats & seat restraints only!

Check with Batteries Plus. They made us a new fob for about half the price of the dealer.

Instead of using the new key which isn't ground can I use one of my regular keys to turn the lock?

I lost one of my key fobs. I found a supplier online for ~$80 I think. I went to the dealership and sat in the lot while I followed the process in the manual - I was at the dealership in case I messed up and couldn't start my EUV so I'd already be there . But it was easy, and I got my 2 fobs programmed just fine.
