Drafting a truck is an old trick my father taught me on long freeway drives in California. I use it today here in Delaware if I am worried about conserving range, or we have a strong NE headwind (common in winter). Sometimes side drafting works too. Just make sure you follow at a distance he can see you in his mirror, and see his face in his mirror.
Here most of the roads are 55mph, but the common, unticketed level is 65. Drafting a truck at 65 uses the battery as if you are traveling 55.
