Annoying Issue with Bolt EUV

I’ve got a weird issue with my Bolt EUV. My dad accidentally drove off with the charging cable still plugged in - can you believe it? The cable yanked the charger off the wall and messed up the charge port on the car. I’m really annoyed and a bit worried about safety.

Has anyone else had this happen, or got tips to stop it from happening again?

I think this could happen only because the cable was not fully inserted into the charge port and therefore the car didn't block drive modes because of that.
Anyway, if this is how it happened, you have to fix this pretty fast. As for the tips part: do the charging part yourself next time. 🙄🤐
