The kind of cycling you're talking about, charging hill top most the time and once and a while doing a full charge and also depleting the battery somewhere well...

    The dealer I got mine from in BC has 2 L2 charger free to the public and as far as I know they don't discriminate, I saw a fiat plugged in there once. Last I checked they didn't have L3 but they seem eager to jump on the bandwagon. I'm not sure they're accessible after hours.

    It's generally excepted that you should charge it up full (100%) and run it down low (not 0 but low) once and a while, not to make a habit of it but like every couple months or a few times a year? To make sure everything is getting a chance to balance properly.

    I believe the car has to be "ON" to charge the 12v battery. It notes in several sections of the owners manual that in accessory or service mode electrical devices can drain the 12 volt battery. I don't think running an inverter directly off the battery would be any different.

    The "safety features" are built into the EVSE cables, UMC, wall chargers or WHY. The Jdapter or tesla tap are essentially just rerouting the L1, L2/N, Grnd, signal and pilot wires from tesla pin outs to the J1772. I'd build one myself if I could find a female tesla socket.
