    Battery Management

peteblair - I agree with your reasoning. Since I live near the top of a hill, I've been using Hilltop Reserve, and every week or so I give it a full charge for cell balancing. I'm also guessing (with no evidence) that cell balancing might be more important/effective when the car is new, while...

Where to get a laser thermometer ??

Lots of them available on Amazon. I use a Harbor Freight one myself, in the kitchen (there's your rationale for buying one).

    Charging from a 240 VAC 14-50 outlet

Or just install a second outlet on the circuit and set the cars so they do not both charge at the same time.

    Using Tesla destination charger

Perhaps the Kickstarter adapter has become this Jdapter Stub? http://shop.quickchargepower.com/JDapter-Stub-Tesla-Charge-Station-Adaptor-JDPTRSTB.htm Has anyone tried this?

    Radio turns on with start

I agree that having auto-radio-on is remarkably stupid, but if you turn it "off" by using the phone button on the steering wheel, it won't come on when you start the car.

    Exterior Temperature on Display?

With Chevy's horrid implementation of Android Auto (and its mini-Google-map display) you don't even get the time.

    Strange Sound

The Owner's Manual is very explicit that the Parking Brake should always be engaged before Park, just like every other manufacturer of automobiles. Do the parking Brake first, and you won't create this problem for yourself - it's an Operator Error, not a problem with the car.

Engine Noise Loud (Brand New EV - 35 miles)

And that sound will soon be required by Federal law on EVs.

    Volt for Bolt

Sounds like the Volt is in great condition for a 105-year-old car...

Android vs Apple Maps in the Bolt

According to guys at the Android forum, the decision to show Google maps on 2/3 of the screen was made by Chevrolet, not the Android folks. It sucks. So how about we petition Chevy to update their software for AA to show full-screen Google Maps?

Battery Cooling System in the Bolt EV

Heat only rises when you are talking about convection in a fluid medium. the Bolt coolant appears to be mainly flat and two-dimensional, so convection should not be an issue. Why would you ASSUME that there is no cooling for the under-seat battery back? That's funny, apparently Chevy does, as...

    Auto Recirc?

I'm pretty sure Volvos use a sniffer to control recirc.

    Screen wouldn't turn on!

Welcome to the club. When mine went dark, I was able to restart it by powering the car Off, then holding the Home and FF buttons while turning On with the Power button.

BOLT DEAD - REPLACING BATTERY...They should REPLACE THE CAR!

Have a look under the car. Safety precautions aside, replacing the Bolt battery does not look like a big deal, and I'll bet the factory flies out a special jig to support it just as they do at the factory. That said, if you bought a flashlight and the batteries failed, would you be upset if...

    Who belongs on this forum?

I was just curious- I hang out on forums for cars (and other stuff) that I own, but once I've sold the whatever, I'm pretty much gone from that forum and on to the next thing. Personally, I wouldn't find a Miata (for example) forum any more interesting than any other car that I don't own or...

    Bolt too expensive for me

ScooterCT > Disliking the car as much as you do, why do you continue posting on the forum? Not meaning to sound snotty, just curious...

Test Drove and Looking For Input and Feedback

You are the perfect user for a Volt - your daily mileage would easily fit with the battery operation, and the weekly trip would use gas. No need for remote recharges, just a 120v outlet at home. (And the Volt costs less than a Bolt)
