I'm driving a Bolt from DC to Atlanta and want to make sure I'm covered the entire 650 miles with fast charge options (https://www.plugshare.com/).
I know the Tesla SuperChargers won't work with a Bolt, but how about these:
1. CHAdeMO DCFC
2. CCS DCFC

Wow - I didn't think that anybody on the forum for longer than a week wouldn't have seen (or remembered) the extremely long thread complaining about seat comfort. For those individuals, all 26 pages of it can be found in the 'News and Main Chevy Bolt EV' forum, here : http://www.mychevybolt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5675

'Seat' posts moved to that thread (making that thread now 27 pages long)..
Wow - I didn't think that anybody who moderates this forum for longer than a week wouldn't have seen (or remembered) to read MY EXACT POST, which said that since I am comfortable with the seats: I have not even bothered to read the threads on the seats.

I'm 6'1" and 190#. I bought the Premier (with leather) practically sight-unseen. I have no problem with the seats and have gone on long journeys.
6'-1/2" here, although much heavier (that is a bigger "ask not what your country should do for YOU!").

I have not even bothered to read the threads on the seats.

I have driven 3,000 miles since January 3rd and am very comfortable sitting in my seat for long periods of driving!

I especially like the feeling of the lumbar support on my back!

And I am still NOT going to bother to read them!

You are on my "ignore" list - I don't see (read) most of your posts. (I will be erasing non-fast-charger related posts in this thread, including this one, in the near future.)

I guess that is a good excuse for your snarky comment to me about why anyone on this forum for over one week would know about the seat comfort thread, when my post said I never read any of them! :D

CCS for fast charging.

Also, here is one of the best articles on planning : http://insideevs.com/planning-a-long-journey-with-your-chevrolet-bolt-ev-or-opel-ampera-e/ Having tried one of the 125Amp/50K fast charging, I got numbers very similar to what is mentioned in the article for time used vs SOC.

Have a great trip.

I believe the CCS is also sometimes called a Combo. Use Plugshare and filter to show just those chargers. In a pinch, you can use the lower power J1772 , but they only add about 25 miles/HR. Also, check the networks for chargers along the way, and get subscribed to them and the apps. Some chargers cost money.

The j1772 is MUCH more common, but takes up to 9.5 hours for a full charge. Also, check the networks for chargers along the way, and get subscribed to them and the apps. Many public chargers cost money.

1. [deleted as not applicable for the Bolt EV]
2. CCS DCFC
In addition to DC Fast Charging options:

Be sure to find hotels/motels that have L2 chargers for overnight charging, if convenient. An overnight L2 is as good as, and sometimes more convenient as, a DC Fast Charger that is not on site.

I also carry the AV TurboCord 120v/240v charger, a 25' 240v extension cord and a couple of 240v adapters from evseadapters.com so I am covered if the hotel/motel/relative/friend has a 240v dryer outlet that they will let me use!

In a pinch, 120v charging is then also available, at a paltry 4 miles per hour charging rate. An 120v extension cord is helpful here, too.

Try not to get too involved in the technical aspects of the article and IMHO ignore the comments.

You are not about to drive 50 miles out of your way just because a Fast Charger is 125Amp/50K instead of 45!

Here are the MOST important considerations to note and I use the Plugshare app on my iPhone!

Is there more than ONE CCS charger available at that location in case it is already in use and you are in a hurry; OR

It is not functioning!

If it is already in use and you are not in a hurry and the other driver is available, ask them how long they will be charging, so that you might wait if it is the only one available. Most EV drivers are polite and courteous of other driver's needs; especially BEV's that have no other backup energy source!

So you MUST be aware of those locations where there are only one CCS and have backup plans to make it to another location if the first one is non-functional/not available for any reason!
