Opel Ampera-E range graphic with 500+ km range beats other EVs

Originally, the Ampera-E had a 400+ mile range. Now after some other recent announcements from other EV makers, such as Renault with its 400km EV, Opel had to re-release the graphic and also announce the Ampera-E has a 500+km range so it's still at the top of the graph

I don't think they've released the official range on the European test cycle yet. They're still in the same mode that GM was back when they were claiming "at least 200 miles". So as long as the official European cycle range isn't less, they can probably announce whatever range they want.

No, it's as simple as that:
In Europe we use the NEDC cycle which is about one third higher than the EPA range numbers.
EPA range: 238 miles = 383 km
NEDC range = EPA range + 33%: 383 km x 1,33 = 509 km
So they can easily claim 500+ km

In Europe everybody knows that the NEDC numbers are way too high, but its due to the fact that all numbers are way too high, even the numbers from the combustion engines. That's why VW got that fine in the US.
