It would be very helpful if the Energy Assist Plan Your Route part of the myChevrolet app was CarPlay compatible. It would be nice to have that info displayed and controllable from the big display.

Here's what's actually coming soon...GM has stated they're already begun rolling out the "GM Marketplace" to the infotainment system all 2017 and 2018 GM vehicles; I just searched this forum for marketplace and it appears there aren't any posts about it being rolled out to Bolts yet...Front page google doesn't appear to list a model by model rollout schedule, perhaps someone here has insider info to when the Bolt will receive this update...It'll automatically download and you'll receive a popup to notify you its been deployed...

GM Marketplace is extremely controversial...Like OnStar, Marketplace uses the vehicles modem even if you don't pay for a data plan which means that most likely it won't be able to be turned off...It has coupons/offers such as a free app at Red Lobster, allows you make a table reservation at places like Applebees, allows you to upload your credit card and book travel arrangements on priceline, pay for gas at Shell, order food and drinks and pay from the vehicle for places like Dunkin Donuts...In Dunkin Donuts case, there's the perk where after you order on marketplace, you can head to the drive thru, without ordering you speak your name to the speaker, continue to the window to pick up your order...You can use it while driving at any speed and GM actually states this experience was designed to be used by the driver while driving and doesn't even support voice support yet but will later along with other features in future updates...GM said they feel this is safer than using your smartphone...Finally they stated it'll "learn" and over time may display relevant offers which adds to controversy; hopefully every time we're near an Applebees, we don't receive an infotainment screen popup we have to manually dismiss...I haven't seen any mention of marketplace and EV chargers but that could be a great opportunity for GM with locating charging stations and steering you to locations which have their vendors nearby...

There's no built in navigation system in my car. That's not a "misunderestimating" ... that's a fact. Onstar can't even show me a map, all I can do is talk to the operator or listen to onstar turn-by turn. Which btw is a poor substitute for a freakin MAP.

According to GM:
"The GM Marketplace will let customers to order food, make reservations, or find the closest gas station from their in-vehicle touchscreen; that is, if the store belongs to one of its participating partners, which includes Applebee’s, Delivery.com, Dunkin’ Donuts, IHOP, ExxonMobil" ... etc"

How will we find the gas station without a map? Possibly GM Marketplace is something that could be rolled into Android Auto? Doubt it.

I have no idea how this is going to work - but even in vehicles that have SatNav as an option there are a lot of people who don't buy the trim level that it comes with, and I have no doubt that GM will want to roll this out to as many xxxsuckersxxx customers as possible because they get revenue from their "partners" based on the number of eyeballs they deliver this xxxxuseful informationxxx -->advertising<-- to. So I think they'll probably find a way.

I could be wrong, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I sat in a Bolt that had the Navigation icon on the main menu. It didn't actually do anything, but it was there. I didn't buy that car because it wasn't a premier, but it's certainly a feature that could be included. The car already has a GPS and network connectivity so it's just a matter of installing that application.

I would pay the monthly $20 fee for unlimited internet if the Bolt had apps like Android Auto built in. GM Marketplace is in the same category. Otherwise, I see no reason to keep the car's 4G connection. The stupid MyChevy app is still super slow even with a 4G connection!

You were right...After several fails which I'll list below, finally received an answer by emailing OnStar: "Unfortunately at this time, the 2017 Bolt EV will not be receiving Marketplace." I'm just surprised there's so little data out there with compatible models and whether it's tied to navigation or not...It's on the MY18 Equinox, Buick Regal and Buick Enclave but I can't find anything definitive to whether it's trim/navigation dependent or not...

I asked chevy chat, they gave me the "GM Connection Center" (877-588-8352) which for all I know it was the wrong dept...I thought I was being proactive by saying the first time "the Bolt EV, that's B as in Bravo, Bolt with E - V in the model name", third time after saying "Not the V as in Victor Volt..." the rep got it...But I couldn't convince him GM Marketplace even existed, he kept saying "It's called at your service", third times a charm again, I just gave up as clearly they didn't have the info...

I went a new direction, went back to chevy chat which requires a drop down to why you're communicating with them...I selected EVs before, now I did shopping for a new vehicle, asked if GM Marketplace was available on the base trim 2018 Equinox...After at least a five minute delay the rep stated they finally received an answer by reaching out to OnStar and it's available on all MY18 Equinox's as long as you active OnStar account...They then "recommended" I call the GM connection center if I had additional question...GM owns Onstar and it seems they're running the show...My best guess is whether its a screen size coding thing and/or Bolt specific infotainment software thing, its extremely low odds its coming to the Bolt EV until its refresh...

I wholeheartedly +1 your #3. Having to go to icon mode to switch back is ludicrous.

As to your #17. The order of the favorites is the order you pick them, so unpick all your favorites and then pick them in the order you want them in your list.

I like the stability they've added to 14.4 and I'm encouraged by the fact Chevy is actively improving the software. I think we can help! What would you like to see in the next revision? I'm talking just the software package, not the seats, or the autopilot, or the suspension. What could the GUI (Graphic User Interface) do better? It doesn't cost much (I don't think) to improve software functionality so I think our suggestions should and would be considered.

15. Toggle for free wheel coasting in 'D'; that keeps the regen paddle, and keeps regen on the brake pedal

17. Ability to sort radio favorites so up/down button on steering wheel goes in the order I choose
18. Allow "Chime Volume" to go below 24
19. Cableless Android Auto (I wouldn't mind paying $10 a month for another wireless account if it actually did more than support wifi for my other devices that already have 4G)
20. The ability to disable the automatic parking brake.
21. I’d like to be able to set the seat heaters back to Auto mode after setting it to something else. Currently it cycles between high-medium-low-off. Why not add Auto to that cycle?
22. Auto-preconditioning. The car already has a scheduled leave time, it knows the temperature, how about adding a setting to automatically start preconditioning so that the car is all nice and warm (or cool) when it's time to leave?

If you're talking about switching from the the normal infotainment system back to Android Auto, all you have to do is to long press the physical "Home" button next to the volume control.

Nothing.

Chevy has not embraced the Tesla upgrade policy, and sees only additional costs and liabilities involved in upgrading previously-sold cars. Their philosophy is that if it was good enough that you bought the car, it's good enough, period.
