Hi, I'm from Brazil and I plan to import the BOLT. Is the warranty international, since Chevrolet is present in my country?

Another question, I have a outlander PHEV, and I charge from a level2 220v 16amps cord, can I use this same charging cord since is the same american plug (type 1)?

Marcelo

If the Bolt is not sold in Brazil then the dealers won't have the equipment or information needed to fix it - so they couldn't honour the warranty even if they wanted to.

Possibly with an adapter, but the plug on the cordset is a NEMA 5-15.

The J1772 type 1 you use on your Outlander will work fine.

As stated above - warranty is available only thru authorized dealers (cost in the US is about $40-50K to become authorized), so no warranty unless you ship it back to the US to have the work done.

Hi Marcelo,

Unfortunately, because the Bolt EV is not sold in Brazil, the vehicle would not be eligible for any warranty work while outside the U.S. If the EVSE does not follow the SAE J1772 standard the Bolt may not charge. Also the travel cord set should not be used with adapters for 220V, extension cords, etc.

Please be aware that exporting a vehicle outside the United States is prohibited by General Motors.

Kindly,

Ok, but about exporting being prohibeted it is strange, since there is already one here on Sao paulo..
