How to adjust front windshield wiper resting position?

My driver's side blade now comes to rest in contract with the other blade, making an ugly "thwack" sound. Short of leaving my car at the dealer for a day, is this easily adjustable? I removed what appeared to be the nut that secured the arm to the motor, but it doesn't appear to serve that function.
