GM says 2017 Bolt will be limited availability.... perhaps West coast only this year?

Fair points, Sean. Unless I needed a larger car, all-wheel drive, or perhaps a larger battery, the choice between a used Model S 60 and a new Model 3 60 could be a tough choice.

If not for Model 3 vaporware, it's a safe bet that GM would be figuring out how to process 100,000+ Bolt orders. Hands down, the Bolt is the best 200+ mile range EV you can buy today under $40,000. I can understand EV buyers not wanting to wait...who knows, Model 3's may not start shipping until 2020.

I am going to laugh my ass off if Musk announces in a year or so that they won't be building a Model3 after all - "well, we wanted to make sure that a lower cost 200+ mile car was available for people. GM with the Bolt and Nissan with the latest LEAF are making that option available, so we have decided to re-invest in our core segment : really expensive cars."
