Besides the battery pack and cost reductions of that unit, the Bolt isn't a revolutionary vehicle. It doesn't use any innovative chassis design, advanced materials, composites, etc. So bringing it into production isn't as a big deal as everyone seems to be making it to be.

Yeah, just like the Tesla roadster. They simply bought everything but the engine, tranny, and fueltank from Lotus. What a bunch of losers!

So you're comparing a start up company that essentially used a roadster to test their battery tech in to an auto company that's been around for 70-80+ years and is just barely now starting to make a decent EV? Tesla did in 15 years what GM couldn't and wouldn't do in 8 decades. Not to mention, even with so little experience, they have made vehicles that are top in safety, pretty much top in reliability, and top in customer satisfaction. Lol...good comparison! I'm sure GM feels chuffed!

You guys need to give it a break with the Tesla hate. It's more American than GM ever could be today. To me that says a lot.

But yeah...my comment still stands about the difference in innovation. Tough pill to swallow I know.

No prob here - I was just making fun of your fanboy attitude, that's all. Yeah, buying a british car makes them real american.

I already stated I'm not a fanboy of any car. I admire Tesla for what they have accomplished. GM would not being giving you anything other than another Volt if it wasn't for Tesla pushing the industry so much.

I just find it amusing how GM fanboys like yourself here get all bent out of shape when someone talks about Tesla or BMW or any other EV for that matter. And when GM decides to produce their entire Bolt here in the States, then we can talk about an all American EV from GM. Until then, nah. The Model S and X are really the most American EVs around right now.

??

Exactly what outrageous claim did Jupiter make? That the Bolt isn't a "revolutionary vehicle"? Depends on the metrics of what goes into measuring a vehicle as revolutionary I suppose. For me, cars such as the VW beetle, Ford Mustang, and Porsche 911 belong in that category. Sadly, the term "revolutionary" is as overused by marketing departments in the attempt to create a buzz. No doubt the Bolt is a great effort from GM, but revolutionary? That remains to be seen. I'd call it "evolutionary" as in the next logical step before it gets replaced by something else.
