Just arrived this morning - sitting on the lot in Brampton Ontario.

If everything works out I'll have it sometime Tuesday night. It will be ready Monday but I have other obligations. Need to sort out insurance - called a few weeks back and they could only quote me on a 2017 Volt.

I hooked one of the dealer's allocations on Nov 10 (if I remember correctly). Most likely pay MSRP.... That is still an unknown at this point.

P.S. We had a chance to inspect one in person in Thornhill today. They had a black Premier and a GM rep on site for two hours. Looks pretty solid, lots of good ideas went into the car. A little too much glossy black plastic for my liking though. No test drives yet, sadly.

Report On Invitation Yesterday (25 January) On The Chevrolet Bolt EV at Gateway Chevrolet Buick,GMC (Brampton, Ontario):

The Bolt the Regional GM Representative brought over was a pre-production vehicle (Premier Model). Arctic Blue was its colour. He says this Bolt will never be sold but only used by engineers and GM employees. It will be eventually be crushed, he said.

The Bolt was being charged as we arrived but the circuit breaker of the dealership hooked up to the Bosch EVSE was tripping every so often as the EVSE was drawing 30 A and the breaker was less.

The Regional GM Representaive from Brooklin, Whitby, Ontario was responsible for going to the GM dealerships in the Oakville, Mississauga and surrounding area. I felt his concern on getting the EVSE working as the Bolt he brought over indicated only 64 km anticipated range left.

He offered my son and I and another fellow a drive inside the Bolt around the vicinity of the property of the dealership. We were not allowed to test drive as the Bolt he brought over was a pre-production vehicle. On a more roomier part of the dealership lot, he gunned the accelerator pedal. You feel you head against the head rest. There is a SPORT mode button. He did not use thiis button. So I can imagine the "kick" that you would feel in this mode. I guess this would be the "equivalent" of the Ludicrous mode on the Tesla.

Oh, well. The salesman said the fellow we were riding in the Bolt said he would be getting his Bolt at the end of the month of January and mine would be after (February).

I ordered an LT (Arctic Blue). Till then, gotta get my garage cleaned up. The fellow we we with already has an EVSE installed in his garage.

For now, have to keep an eye around for the cheapest gas in my other car. Today (Brampton, Ontario) filled up tank $1.04 per litre.

Nice! You have more patience than I do.
However, I called TD today and they still have nothing to offer for a quote on the Bolt. They need to get on it.
Were you really able to order in November? My dealer didnt advise of an allotment until Dec 08.
$395 admin fee + tire stewardship fees here. Had the etching Nonsense taken off.
Watch the AC tax. My dealer had it on top of freight/AC tax, which of course it included already.

I could have bought one from Addison chev in mississuaga on weds it was white but they wanted to test drive it for 3 days first so I skipped it, it sold the next day.

My Bolt is scheduled to be built between 12 and 16 of January. I'm in Ontario (Brampton area).

Wonder what the expected delivery date will be. Dealer doesn't have an answer on that yet. Any ideas on how long that takes?

Awesome, they must be trying to get up to Ontario levels. It gives me hop that the EV rebate will be in the 7-8,000 range.

This was the reply I got from Dan Reynolds at GM. Still couldn't even give me a ballpark like what month, or even mention what season or quarter. Getting frustrated with how GM is handling this! :x

I have added your name to my list of Bolt EV customers who have placed orders and will keep you updated as to it production.

Currently your Artic Blue Metallic Bolt EV is at the ‘Preliminary Order Stage’. Basically meaning it is waiting for ‘its turn’ based on dealer allocation to be given a TPW.
TPW, or ‘Tentative Production Week’ is what will be waiting for as it is this date that it will be ‘scheduled’ for production.
The ‘TPW’ may change at any time down at Orion Assembly, but gives us a closer date to actual manufacture.
This is quite normal for all vehicles to wait for a ‘TPW’.
Even with my own 2014 Chevrolet Volt, I was waiting for a few weeks in the summer of 2013 waiting for a ‘TPW’ to be set, while in ‘Preliminary Order Accepted’ stage.

Please have a look at the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV Owner’s Manual as there are some features that are specific to the Bolt EV:.

The Scrap-It program has always been $3000 from the government and $250 from the dealer when you buy an EV and scrap an old car.

The CEV program has always given $5000 for buying an EV.

It would be great if Scrap-It has doubled its incentive, but I wonder if maybe that's really the new figure for CEV??? A source for this news would be really useful, I haven't been able to find anything via Google.

It looks like it was JUST done because some of the other sections of the site not yet updated still reference the older $3,250 figure there is no mention whatsoever it's some new combined incentive with the CEVBC program, that would be a significant reduction. I wouldn't expect local news to pick up on it for some time if at all.

If you read further it is actually a $6,000 refund back with a $250 point of sale reduction just like the previous $3,250 but 6k instead of 3k so $6,250 total.

I filled out the first form on Scrapit web site two days ago (Friday) for the $6000 New EV option. Prior to that I exchanged emails with their office to make sure I understood the process;specifically the time line as I wasn't sure exactly when the vehicle would arrive. I was told they would give me an extension for the validity of the claim up to 90 days which would bring me out to mid May. My Bolt is due to be delivered prior to end of March so I went ahead and applied. From our email exchange this is what I expect. Because Monday is a holiday here I think Tuesday or Wednesday I will get my authorization code to confirm my place in the 500 units. I'll update here next week on the progress. Don't forget the $250 dealer rebate at purchase. So the total incentive in my case will be $11,250.

Thanks - I'm aware of the requirements. It's great to see the increased incentive, but those 500 slots are going like hotcakes. It's been less than two weeks since the funding announcement and over 100 have already gone.

I don't want to commit to buying the Bolt without a decent test drive first, which means the 6-month period won't be up for me until the fall. They'll have run out of incentives long before then. So unless the program is re-funded this year I expect that will mean delaying the purchase until this time next year when the program (presumably) gets more funding. I'm not super happy about that, but I guess the silver lining is that it will likely be a 2018 model with whatever improvements that brings.

Yep...I was watching the count down and I got into a bit of a panic but the 90 days is good for me with time to spare. Hopefully they will get another source of cash. I was fine with the $3250 but the extra goes into more Solar so it's a double win.

It's my hope the initial rush of people that were waiting is over and it'll slow down on the program applications, I won't be able to scrap my car until mid July. there's also a limit on the CEVBC program incentive but I'm assuming that'll be refunded for next fiscal year.

If you do the math on how many people in BC or any similarly incentivised province buy a new car per year and then how many of those are electrics and how many of those can/want to scrap a car the number should shake out pretty low.

To further add after some searching. the CEVBC program was recently refunded for 2017 @ 25 mil of 40 mil with the remaining 13 mil to be determined. Maybe this has already been caught but I thought it link worthy for this thread.

Maybe some of the remainder is for scrapit? It almost makes sense now why they might jack up there incentive before the next fiscal budget rolls out, to use up the surplus to keep there funding as high as possible.
