Android Auto Volume Very High

I'm not able to find any way to turn down the volume when using Ok, Google and Google Maps navigation. It's almost screaming at me. I have a Samsung J3 phone and tried turning down the volume in all but the ringer, but no dice. The Bolt's infotainment system volume seems to have no effect either, which leaves me at a loss.

You use the Bolt radio's volume knob to adjust AA volume. I believe you have to do it while AA is making a sound, e.g. if you're using AA navigation, you have to wait till it speaks a direction and turn the volume knob down before the AA voice stops talking.
