Interesting trip she took. IMO, the biggest mistake she made was not booking a hotel with an L2 charger. If she could have done that, she'd have started the second day with a full charge. And the return trip would have started with a very nearly full charge as well. Certainly would have helped that 11.5 hour day!

I'm glad she was adventurous enough to try it (and to share with the world!), and I don't blame her one bit for not wanting to do it again until the infrastructure improves.

Driving at 80MPH is not how you cover more ground per charge. I am glad to hear about how things went, as we early adopters need to learn from our shared experiences.
