Look- you "probably" have an electric, not ICE belt driven air conditioner in your home or office.
I think you'll agree, your electric bill goes up- A LOT when you use it.
There is a fixed kw value for changing temperature in either direction. The difference is:
Summer:
Usually you'll want to change the temperature from 90'F to 70'F. A change of 20 degrees.
Winter:
Usually you'll want to change the temperature from 30'F to 70'F. A change of 40 degrees.
Hence (and no wonder) the heater drains your battery twice as much.
