If only - GM Supercharger network

The problem with a 200 mile EV like this is that GM isn't planning on rolling out a supercharger network infrastructure similar to Tesla. You can't yet rely on public chargers to meet the needs of an electric vehicle like the Chevy Bolt if it's built in large numbers. There is no way for a...

Will the Bolt EV be profitable?

For some reason, EV manufacturers seem to hold this data pretty close to their chests. Is the Volt profitable? Is the LEAF profitable? Is the Tesla Model S 'officially' profitable? I don't know that we've been told any of that info...

    Availability details

And now rumors of being available in Europe - I guess, if this isn't a compliance EV like the Chevy Spark EV, then why wouldn't they offer it in Europe, and Canada, and worldwide? If they want to compete with the Nissan LEAF and the Tesla Model 3 then they will have to offer it worldwide. We'll...

Videos from the Bolt EV debut at the North American Internat

These videos are from the North American International Auto Show when the Chevrolet Bolt EV concept was unveiled. Sorry to say the videos are pretty boring, but wanted to add them to the Bolt EV forum just as an archive for people interested in everything to do with the Bolt 200+ mile electric...

Chevrolet Bolt vs Tesla Model 3

Sure, ok, except that I assume you use the Honda Fit as an example because it's actually only $15 thousand, not $40.. I think people will compare the Bolt EV and the Tesla Model 3 because those are (currently) the only 2 electric vehicles offering a range of 200+ miles. If someone wants a 200...

The Bolt EV and Model 3 will look the same...?

Sure that makes sense, but also remember that the Bolt EV is supposed to be a compact city vehicle, not a sprawling sedan like the Model S. Also, we have no idea how big the Model 3 will be. We can assume it will be smaller in order to keep costs down, but that's really all we have to go off of...

Will the Bolt EV name stick? (poll)

I think Chevrolet could just add 'EV' after it, so then talking about the Bolt EV vs the Volt doesn't rhyme the same way.

Chicago Auto Show - GM announcing Bolt production?

So the rumors are flying, and word from Detroit News is that GM will announce the production of the Bolt all-electric vehicle at the Detroit Motor Show next week. Do you think they'll have a production version to unveil, or are they going to show the concept and unveil the production version of...

Any chance of an AWD Bolt EV?

They could use 2 motors at the rear, one on each wheel like the Mercedes Gullwing electric vehicle that cost $500,000. Chances are they'll just stick with fwd :)

    Bolt "must have" features...IMO

I can agree with most of those - the last one isn't a must-have for me. I don't care if they take over the EV market, I just want one at a good price :) 3 position rear seat not important for me - my kids are made of rubber, they'll be fine in whatever position the seat comes in.

Should Chevy call their EV the Bolt or not?

I like Bolt as a name - bolt of lightning, very electric in it's nature. I didn't know that V is pronounced B sometimes in Spanish - that could be very confusing for those countries. However, rhyming model names isn't really that big of a deal. There are so many vehicles I imagine there's a...

Chevrolet Bolt EV was designed 'down under' in Australia

The new Chevrolet Bolt EV concept was constructed in GM Australia’s design studio in Port Melbourne, with the Australian workshop one of only two in the world with the capability to bring such a project to reality. The five-door, tall-bodied crossover has been touted by GM CEO Mary Barra as a...

    Coming in 2017, maybe 2018?

+2 for not betting against Elon. That's not to say the Chevy Bolt can't be awesome too, especially if they come in at a lower pricepoint, and there's a quick charge network available as well!

    Coming in 2017, maybe 2018?

Can't see the video from work, but if it is the MotorTrend video then they're talking about when they'll unveil the production-ready Bolt EV, not when they will launch the Bolt and start sales. Remember how the Volt was unveiled in Sept 08 2 years after the concept in January 07? Then it took 2...

Glass roof - will it make it to production?

I also just noticed what appears to be some strange texturing/modeling in the glass towards the rear of the vehicle?

Glass roof - will it make it to production?

I love the glass roof on the Bolt EV concept, but I'm not sure it will make it to production. Are there currently any production electric vehicles with a glass roof? The Tesla Model S has some sort of panoramic roof I seem to recall... Anyways, here are some photos of the Bolt's glass roof...

    No fast charging?

This picture doesn't look like an SAE combo quick charge plug... But the official comment from GM is that the "Bolt EV concept is also designed to support DC fast charging." Does that mean there's a different charge input somewhere on the vehicle, or they just haven't finalized the plug yet?
