    "Auto" HVAC questions

If you could set the airflow temp to 70 in winter, the temp in the rest of the car would be much colder, as it loses a LOT of heat thru conduction to the outside. The difference from what you are used to is that the heat in an ICE car is wasted thermal energy from the engine, and there is lots...

    aesthetic modifications

I found that the Cruze Eco wheels reduce bumps somewhat (not bigly), but what the car really needs is a set of Koni FSD shocks, to reduce transmitted shocks on small bumps, while stiffening roll resistance.

Ultra-Fast-charging just around the corner ???

Yep - "Ultra-Fast-charging" has been "just around the corner" for at least 20 years. There are still significant financial barriers to implementing it, such as the extremely high cost to run new high-voltage lines to a charger location.

Is the rear view camera usable at night?

I've come to like the camera mode, and I use it at night, because all I really want to know is whether there is someone in back of me. It is pretty useless in the rain. The mirror mode doesn't dim enough or quickly enough to make me happy, and it has the 1/4" of non-dimming area around the edges...

    How often to recharge?

Just curious: is there a way to set the Bolt to not charge at all while plugged in? I'm thinking maybe the time of use settings or something could be set to avoid any charging?

I'm shopping for an EV. What's next?

The idea is that next you choose one and buy it.

New EV Models Coming in 2018!

If Chevy ever announced the "Jolt" that has been photo-chopped on the net, I'd get excited again. Until then, I'm happy with my Bolt.

New EV Models Coming in 2018!

Ho hum. Seriously? A bunch of hybrid truck-wagons and a low-range sedan? No wonder electric vehicles are still a fraction of 1% of vehicle sales. I am unexcited.

    Infotainment ===> 15.0

Meanwhile back it reality, the chances of getting any new or improved function in the 2017 Bolt are near zero, IMHO. GM has no understanding or interest in the benefits they would accrue if they behaved like Tesla, and sent out over-the-air updates that kept improving the car. As far as their...

    Now this is interesting

It takes a LOT of heat to warm a half-ton of battery. A couple of quick regens and accelerations is only going to burn a kWH or two at most, and most of that isn't going into heating. Unlikely to have much effect.

    What does this tell you?

If your 5%-full figure was taken from the bars on the driver display, you actually have somewhere between 2.5% and 7.5% - it's not precise, just an approximation with a 5%-wide range.

    3 weeks in, My review

No, it won't. It will handle like a short wheelbase car with tires that are stickier than the suspension is comfortable with. It will be just as stiff on bumps, and the body will still move around too much on the wheels when braking or cornering. Will it be improved? Yes, but it's handling will...

Indication for auto seat heat please.

Think of AUTO as being half a dot. It warms the seat to maybe 60F when preheating, but seems like less heat than a single dot would produce.

Indication for auto seat heat please.

That's why it shows AUTO - the very low setting that comes on during preheating.

    Splash Guards for Bolt

It actually has tiny ones in front of the rear tires. However, there are no splash guards that will help much with a hatchback, because the shape pulls moving air up and toward the rear of the car, where it deposits entrained water and dirt particles very efficiently.
