JDapter (trademark) Tesla Charging for all

I see the value and the gen2 tesla UMC is a bargain buuuuut $250 seems like a lot for what is essentially a rewired extension cord, these things can't be that hard to build. I give cheap knockoff companies a few months before they start cranking these things out for half the price, or less.

    Rats! (actually probably mice)

Soy based wiring insulation, that's actually kinda funny, my neighbour has a 2016 Tucson so all the rats should spend there time over there, I'll be safe in my driveway, We have 2 cats plus all the neighbour cats, rodents aren't prolific around us for some reason.

    Cheap Ebay Chargers 32/40 amp

Fair Enough, now we need to find a lower priced "tesla tap" and we're in business, although 300+240 is still not bad for something reputable.

    Cheap Ebay Chargers 32/40 amp

That'd be great but I'm not seeing it anywhere near that price even used stuff is a bit more, a new "tesla tap" is like $250 without the UMC. I've seen articles of a past sales of tesla UMC's for like $300 but I can't find them anyone now, all back ordered I suppose.

    Cheap Ebay Chargers 32/40 amp

they're getting cheaper for sure, I "want" 32 amp or higher but I guess 2 amps don't matter terribly. My biggest issue with these brands is the mobility, I want something easily transportable and stoweable to be used on anyone 14-50 outlet. How often will I do that? I dunno maybe never.

Solar PV - Save Money & Shrink Carbon Footprint

In this part BC were 8 cents low tier and 12 cents high tier rate plus running fees, it's safe to assume with grid tie you'd never bump up into the 2nd tier and utilities buy back surplus power at I believe 10 cents as a credit payed back in cash yearly, my maths on a wholesale self installed...

    Cheap Ebay Chargers 32/40 amp

The Zencar does seem a little bit better then similar priced competitors with the RFID card selectors and you can also get them from amazon. You've got to wonder what happened to switches? shake it? tap it? how is this cheaper or more reliable?

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

I can't foresee any logical reason it would begin tapering it's charge at 50%, right when the chemistry is at it's most viable.

    Solar Home Battery Storage Systems

rgmichel, EldRick, Unless you're driving 50% of that power away you guys should really review your energy usage habits. Anyway an expensive product like a "powerwall" really only makes sense when tied to a point of use power generation system like solar or wind or whatever you got going on. If...

Pretty pricey, especially for what is essentially "half speed" fast charging

    Adjusting Driver Seat Angle

I don't see how you'd be in danger of discharging the airbags doing what you describe, If you're real nervous you could disconnect the power harness for the seat, that'd keep the airbags quiet. Side note, I have a 2018 on order and test drove the 2017, now I don't have the same seat issues a...

    How often to recharge?

In theory you can use off peak charge settings to dictate what hours you're charging is active, you can set this to a time you know you won't be charging (like a time after you leave for work) and in theory use priority charging for other times of the day or if you want it to charge up...

Ultra-Fast-charging just around the corner ???

In 2028 when my bolts battery is fading to the point I'm having trouble driving to the wall to take my shift defending our nation from the muto-savages of the American wastes that I might be able to upgrade my power electronics and perhaps battery cells to accept a higher power density and...

The January 2018 EV Sales Numbers are in: Bolt 1177, Volt 713

And there's still a few models yet to report numbers, I would expect bolt sales to pick up when they start delivering the 2018MY.

Any concerns with never fully charging battery

You'll here arguing to the contrary but according to all recent testing and study lithium chemistries are typically happiest in the middle of the SoC, so around 50% and un happiest at the top or bottom, so in the lower and upper 20%. It's important to know that just how these batteries are...

Charging in peak thought I told it not to

Or set your off peak times to when know you're not going to be plugged in, like right after you're going to work. All that aside I think the battery will condition weather it's plugged in or not down to about 30% SoC? If that's the case just don't plug it in unless you want it charged or maybe...
