Does anyone have any details for the pending Electrify America DCFC being constructed in Firebaugh, CA?

I haven't been there, however plugshare lists it as 4 stations (and under construction). HOWEVER, Electrify America stations are often reported as having problems requiring calls to cust service to reboot the station or the credit card reader (or both) - and Cust Serv is *NOT* 24/7. If you are...

    CT - Lease advice appreciated

    According to this : http://ev-vin.blogspot.com/ Quirk is currently offering a 2019 Bolt lease, 36 months, $2594 down, $165/mo, (but only 10K miles, w/ $0.28/mi overage). If you actually drive 15K a year (15K exactly) then with that lease, ( (5000/12) * .28 ) is an extra $116/mo, for ...

Adding one of those "key fob mini lights" to your keychain works great, as does keeping a really small LED flashlight in your glovebox.

BoBattery failure - How good is the warranty going to be?

I don't think that you have enough information (data) to know if you have a beef with GM or not. The range estimate is just an estimate. Does your gas mobile tell you how many miles you can drive on 5/8ths of a tank of gas? When they did 'whatever', they either unplugged power from everything...

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

The "120 kW, 100A at 1200V" was hyperbole (a gross exaggeration) on my part to illustrate the point ("kW" rating often being a joke - actual max amps being a better measure). There are both 100A and 125A "50 kW" DCFCs out there, and they do NOT charge a Bolt at the same speed. The actual...

BoBattery failure - How good is the warranty going to be?

The "estimated range" is just that - an estimate, taking into account your driving habits and other factors. It is NOT a 'pure' measure of the capacity of your battery. Yes, the software DOES have to "relearn" after the update for the "estimate" to be more accurate. Now, that doesn't mean...

    MyLink Voice Commands

athlon770 - Have you tried plugging the phone in to USB, then simply saying "OK Google" to talk to THE PHONE and then tell the phone what you want? That doesn't work? (i.e., skip the "press button" step, and replace it with saying "OK, google")

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

And "kW" is very deceiving - what is really important is Amps. Rating a DCFC charger as "120 kW" because it can provide 100A at 1200V really doesn't indicate how useful it is. A Bolt (and most EVs) would pull a max of about ... 100A out of it, around 33-38 kW. A Charger rated at "50 kW"...

I believe he called OnStar during the 3-month-free-trail period to ask "WTF ?!!!? Why doesn't this work like it does in my Volt!!!???" (But I could have misinterpreted.)

Decided to Lease a Bolt This Week - What Is Your Opinon of these terms?

No - I really meant higher residual, which would lower the monthly payment. If you don't understand why a higher residual should lower monthly payments, I can explain it. My comment was meant for people who plan on turning in their vehicle at the end of lease and not buying it afterwards . If...

Sean - you appear to be in the "2017 case" (see bolded underlined, above). athlon770 - are you pairing via bluetooth? (I assume so.) Have you tried connecting via a USB cable (with data capabilities - most have that, but some cheapo cables do not) ?? Does connecting to USB solve your problem?

Decided to Lease a Bolt This Week - What Is Your Opinon of these terms?

The Nissan Leaf e-Plus, Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona EVs should be available soon. (Of course, exactly HOW MANY of the Korean cars will be made available might be a worry, if the low Ioniq availability in the U.S. is any indication.) Ignoring the new Leaf (no thermal battery management?) ... Both...

How much will my battery degrade after two years of charging to 100% almost every night?

Hint: skip the 'comparison' portion - you simply measure capacity, not capacity loss.

How much will my battery degrade after two years of charging to 100% almost every night?

I have seen posted Torque Pro logs from other people, that they had taken when the Bolt was brand new, and a few were over 60 kWh, most were in the 57-59.x kWh range. It apparently does vary, by up to several percentage points.

So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

The "residual" is the price that the car is valued at the end of the lease, and it is in the contract. Each contract may be different. In general, low payments to the lease company mean a higher residual (total of the payments including "up front" costs, not just the monthly payment).

So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

It's hard to foresee the future. Prices for used may tank once 70-100 kW (peak) charging vehicles (like the Kona or Niro) hit the market, since they don't have anywhere near the 200K in sales that GM and Tesla (and Nissan) have. The Kona & Niro are "comparatively" priced to compete well with...
