    FM Radio does not work

My dealer fixed the FM radio today. It only took a few minutes once they got to it. As I suspected, the FM antenna had not been connected. Now everything on the Bolt works wonderfully.

JDapter (trademark) Tesla Charging for all

I need a book, "Charging for Dummies". With these various items, would I be able to charge my Bolt at the Tesla Superchargers? Or are we still just talking about the Level 2 tesla chargers? If with some combination of adapters I can use the Tesla Superchargers, then tell me what items you...

JDapter (trademark) Tesla Charging for all

Now you have confused me. The JDapter is maybe $250 on eBay. Got that. JDapter allows Bolt to use the Tesla Destination chargers, which might come in handy. But what is the Tesla Mobile L2 EVSE that is "a bargain" at $300?

JDapter (trademark) Tesla Charging for all

Yes, that is what PlugShare calls them. There seem to be very few of these (at least in NM) that don't also have the EV plug as well. So having the adapter would not give me many additional places to plug in. But elsewhere, CA for example, that may not be the case. Still would like to know...

JDapter (trademark) Tesla Charging for all

Looking at a previous thread, I take it that the other Tesla charging stations, for which this adapter works, are level 2. Which, I think answers my questions.

JDapter (trademark) Tesla Charging for all

This item is being sold for a few hundred dollars. It honestly says it does not work with Tesla Superchargers. So I conclude, it does not help Bolt owners at all. But I can't tell what it would be used for if not the Tesla Superhargers. Are there other Tesla stations (not super) that would...

Dealer Inspection at 5,000 or 7,500 miles

As far as I can tell from the manual there should be no need to go to the dealer until the tires are rotated at 7,500 miles. But my dealer sent me an email saying 5,000 is right. I suspect that is a standard email that they send to everybody and really only applies to ICE cars. Right?

    Tire sealant and compressor kit

Good to know, thanks for answering my question.

    FM Radio does not work

Sirius XM works wonderfully, even inside my garage. But I will let that lapse after the free period. I have three public radio stations which I sometimes listen to, none of them comes in clearly on my new Bolt. One is pure static, one is very rough with static, and the third comes and goes as...

    Tire sealant and compressor kit

All very interesting information. But as of now not a single person has answered my question. That is, no one has said that they have used the sealant and compressor that comes with the Bolt Premium to fix a flat and told of the experience. Although the Bolt is new, I assume this solution is...

Chevrolet maintenance schedule for the 2017 Bolt EV

It looks to me that, barring something going wrong, I should take my Bolt into the shop for routine checks and tire rotation at 7500 miles. But I got an email from the dealer saying my first recommended (requred?) inspection was at 5K. Should I ignore them and wait to 7500, assuming nothing...

Please recommend a good plug kit.

Working the AC in the winter

Double good news. Thank you Leftie. I too am a leftie, but not a biker, unless you mean bicycle.

Working the AC in the winter

The users manual recommends using the AC monthly in the winter. I think this is to keep the AC seals lubricarted. My experience from ICE cars is that failure to do this results in loss of refrigerant. For ICE cars I have found that one can do this by turning on the windshield defroster for a...

Amazing low cost to run an EV

We have net metering, but not time of day pricing. As long as we generate more Kw from our panels than we use (now including the car) they pay us a little every few months. In the past we have received about $100 a year from the power company (PNM) in addition to "free" electricity for our...

    Tire sealant and compressor kit

Has anyone had an opportunity to use the tire sealant and compressor kit to repair a flat? I have read here that some of you say just call OnStar and have the vehicle towed to a tire store. Others say keep a spare tire (not inflated) in the trunk. I have read the users manual on how to use...

Amazing low cost to run an EV

That $24 for 800 miles sounds more reasonable to me. I suspect the other changes I can't adjust for counts for the difference. Thanks for answering the question. Anybody else with longer term experience who can indicate what I should expect? I won't actually know because the solar panels...

Amazing low cost to run an EV

Right. We didn't buy for economics either, but for environmental reasons. But the differences between an ICE and an EV is not $43,000. So a better comparison is buying a comparably equipped ICE versus the Bolt. $10,000? 15,000? So the payoff is shorter. If some prognosticators about...

Amazing low cost to run an EV

I just got my household electricity bill for the first full month of charging my Bolt with AeroEnvironment level 2 charger in my garage on top of the usual electrical usage. It is about $5 or $6 more than usual. We drove about 800 miles during the month all in city, rarely above 50 MPH. Now...

    Charger adapters

Nevermind. I found it: the funnel shape on the side.
