It does seem that EV buyers locally have been choosing VW e-Golfs often. Previously, Nissan Leafs and Tesla Model S were the predominant EVs. Through 2016, it had a 24 kWh battery for 83 miles of range; the 2017 model has a 36 kWh battery for 124 miles of range. MSRP is $28,995 to $36,810 for the 2017 model.

I.e. comparable range at a slightly lower price than the Hyundai Ioniq. However, the Ioniq is more electricity efficient, since the Ioniq gets the same range out of a 28 kWh battery.

What turned me off most about the eGolf (apart from it being a VW) was the lack of a heated steering wheel, even as a premium package option.

Don't remember seeing an E-Golf on Long Island. Maybe there was one a saw awhile ago. I just checked the VW dealers and none of them list any in inventory.
