Hi,

I have been having this issue where my 2017 Bolt EV Premier started giving me the "unable to charge" error, however I am not plugged in or charging at all... after a while the 12V battery died and got a replacement... all seemed good but today I got in car to pick something up and the error was there again.

I got in the car again 10 minutes later and it was gone. it charges when plugged in (one time didn't and gave me the solid orange with the old 12v battery, but I gave it a jump and it started charging then)

I could not find any threads with this issue happening when unplugged...
I thought maybe the 12v is not being charged but I found no reference of the error being related to that either...

I'll try autozone for codes tomorrow, figured someone may have suggestions, I would really like to avoid the dealership!

Thanks!

It might be worth taking a look at the charge port itself for dirt or moisture that could be triggering a false reading. I’ve heard of issues where debris in the port messes with the connection and throws errors, even when unplugged. If you’re comfortable with it, you can try cleaning the port gently with compressed air.

Haven't seen the error in a few days, I did take a brush and tried cleaning up the contacts, not sure if that is what fixed it or maybe the car was still adjusting after battery install, but hopefully its going to be good now!

thanks!
