Nissan e-pedal on 2018 LEAF

It says e-pedal is activated by a switch. I would like that better than the CBEV shift from D to L, because it would allow 1-pedal driving all the time without having to actuate it every time you drive the car.

Also, it sounds like it stops more quickly than the CBEV when the foot comes off the pedal and that it fully stops down steep down hills which the CBEV does not.

Meh - I dislike 1-pedal driving. Coasting is more efficient, and having regen integrated onto the brake pedal is the best way to do it.

I assume the new system intelligently applies the friction brake when slowing/stopping on a downward hill. Otherwise, that's a lot of stress on the drive train.

No - regenerative braking is no harder on the drivetrain than accelerating the car forward.

It save a LOT of wear and tear on the friction brakes, though. Regen is integrated onto the brake pedal.

Yes - using regen braking ONLY -while stopped on a hill- puts a lot of strain on the drive train. I never wrote anything about regen being an overall strain.
