CCS DC fast charger coverage map

Nice map! As someone that already daily drives a CCS car, the real-world situation is worse than any map implies because unlike Telsa with it's average of 8 plugs per locaiton, CCS chargers are usually a single CCS plug. That means it is less safe to make long distance trips based on maps like...

This is what Tesla Owners said about the Bolt last year!

I tried to think of an example where someone would take a long distance trip while also avoiding major interstates and couldn't think of any. :D

“Pencils Down” For Tesla Model 3, As Chevrolet Bolt Readies For Production

If you look up the history of gas stations, you'll find that car manufactures did in fact partner with energy companies. So if GM partnered with a charging network it wouldn't even be the first time they've been in such an arrangement! On the economics of chargers: It's true the chargers...

Chevrolet Bolt Start Of Production Set For October 2016?

+1 So again, there is no need to worry about charging a Bolt to 100%. Chevy has (so far) been more conservative than Telsa. You could also describe it as either more "foolproof" or more limited (since you don't get the option of playing with the buffer).

    2019 Bolt EV AWD

I haven't had the pleasure of trying Hakkapeliittas yet but I know they are widely considered the world standard. It's not even that much more expensive to have snow tires because two sets of tires means both sets typically last twice as long. You basically are paying for an extra set of rims.

This is what Tesla Owners said about the Bolt last year!

I did forget about the CARB state limited Spark EV, but the Volt is PHEV not EV. That's not a car that competes with Tesla.

GM not planning to fund CCS fast chargers

What's funny is how precisely opposite the reality is for daily commuters (in other words, 95% of all car usage). My wife still has a gas car and she is by far the most jealous that I never have to visit a gas station. My car is 100% full every time I leave the house! 8-) She is almost...

    Drive mode options

Very interesting--I did not know this. I would still far prefer one-pedal setup like i3/Tesla as that is the ultimate in simplicity of operation but this is at least better than I had thought previously.

This is what Tesla Owners said about the Bolt last year!

This doesn't make sense unless you are referring only to Model 3 vs Bolt. Tesla in on pace to sell 70,000+ EVs in 2016 alone. GM has sold zero.

    Technology changes in 24 months

These studies are already done if you care to read them. Electric vehicles already result in far less climate pollution than their gas-powered counterparts, and they’re getting cleaner. Optimizing EV production and the disposal or reuse of batteries could further increase their environmental...

Men vs women in the EV revolution

i3 has similar calculations based on elevation, speed limits, and traffic. It's easy to see because the predicted range will change immediately when you enter a destination.

    Bolt Range

The concept Bolt had CF but the production car will not. Only BMW has so far brought CF to mass production and it took a very big expensive bet to do it. The Bolt’s press release from GM stated the Bolt incorporated advanced materials including aluminum, magnesium and carbon fiber to help...

Bloomberg video on battle between Tesla Model 3 and Chevy Bolt

Thankfully, the "rich people" are sharing their zero emission air with us. And cars in all price ranges get the same federal credit.

Chevrolet Bolt Start Of Production Set For October 2016?

There is absolutely no need for a Bolt (or any EV owner) to be concerned about charging to full or driving to empty. The car manufacturers are not dumb and wouldn't put 8-10 year warranties on batteries if they didn't already do proper testing in worst-case scenarios. Charge it to full nightly...

    2019 Bolt EV AWD

Proper snow tires can replace the need for AWD. If you haven't driven with 4 modern snow tires on your car, you don't know what you're missing! 8-) The benefits to acceleration and stopping power are immense (unlike with AWD that only helps accelerate).

Chevrolet Bolt Start Of Production Set For October 2016?

Wow, an 80 mile daily commute, L1 charger, and a first-gen Leaf leaves no room for error! Forget to plug in or encounter any expected traffic jams / detours and you'd have a bad day, to put it lightly. A 60 kWh Bolt will be a massive improvement for you.

Bloomberg video on battle between Tesla Model 3 and Chevy Bolt

Guys, plenty of buyers will get the full $7500 tax rebate on their Model 3. Even when Telsa hits the cap the rebate is gradually ramped down. It's not like buyer 249,999 gets a $7500 rebate and 250,000 gets nothing.

    Drive mode options

Just a mode change, as documented above. Not like the Volt. Interesting--This one might be closest to Volt. I read some posts from owners and it was difficult to tell exactly how it works but one thing that stood out was how confusing it was to these owners whether to use the paddle or not...

GM not planning to fund CCS fast chargers

I still don't see any evidence of this claim. No company is going to make their sole product objectively worse intentionally. And yes, adapters are clearly worse than no adapter.

Expected month for "build it" website configurator?

Cool, so we might see the price/options list in only a month or two! :D I guess that's really what I want to see--the website is just a bonus.
