LT or Premier Trim Level - what would you choose?

What is it with GM and their insistence on not allowing customer to choose ALL safety options (forward collision assist, etc) unless they also accept leather seats? What if I don't like leather? Leather and safety are not equivalents. :x

    Lease pricing rumors?

Fair enough. BMW is known to set their residuals much higher than most. So with those same numbers and a 42% residual I'm getting $439/mo selling at full MSRP. The i3 very rarely sells at full MSRP ($10k discounts aren't unheard of) and will likely still have a higher residual. It depends on...

    Lease pricing rumors?

It's called Leasematic for iOS. When I leased me i3 I sat in the BMW Sales Manager's office with this app as we plugging numbers in and comparing vs the BMW lease program until we had an agreement. My number from the app was within $2 of his. Before you go to a dealer, you should make sure...

Chevy Bolt will have 238 miles of range, EPA says !!

This is very impressive. Somehow they are beating the 2017 i3 on MPGe efficiency (only by a mere 1 MPGe, but still). I have no idea how they are doing this when the Bolt curb weight is about 250 lbs over the 2017 i3 BEV. It sure does make BMWs use of CFRP seem less important though.

What the Chevrolet Bolt EV Promises Early Adopters

Agree with those points 100%. Traction control in an EV driving in snow is much better in my experience. I once had an 86 Camaro that got stuck on perfectly level ground in less than an inch of snow! I'd add that a lot of people still remember RWD cars from the 1970's when tire technology was...

CCS no longer listed for Bolt

Again, no need to perform this estimated calculation yourself when Chevy has already confirmed directly that it is 7.2 kW: "The battery system is mated to a standard equipment 7.2 kW onboard charger for regular overnight charging from a 240-V wall box."

Will a Bolt get you off gas completely?

Currently we have an EV with range extender and a regular gas car. I plan to replace the former with a BEV next year and the latter in 2 years with a large battery hybrid like the Volt. We will get rid of the Volt once the DC charging situation is further along than it is now. I already own a...

CCS no longer listed for Bolt

That wouldn't explain why Chevy would find it necessary to remove "CCS" from the website. Both 50 kW and 100 kW rates are still CCS. Let's hope it's this one, but again this doesn't explain why they'd choose to remove "CCS" from the website. If it's made a standard feature, they'd be more...

CCS DC fast charger coverage map

I would like to see a similar heat map based on on number of plugs. After all with a single CCS plug at most locations you can't be certain it won't be broken or occupied. That would be quite a downer if you are planning to use it for a long distance trip!

    Lease pricing rumors?

I ran this through my lease calculator and came up with $309 at full MSRP with 100% of the 7500 rebate passed through to the leasee (which is not guaranteed at launch) MRSP: $37,500 (base price, no options) Selling price: $37,500 Fees: $745 Cap Cost Rebates: $7,500 Term: 36 months Residual: 54%...

No noise pollution a huge bonus to EV

Driving through my neighborhood yesterday at 25 mph there were some deer in the road easily heard my EV coming due to tire and wind noise. At any speed over around 10 mph it makes just as much noise as any modern ICE car. I don't hear engine noise from most ICE cars coming towards me unless they...

    robots in this forum?

Has anyone else noticed there appears to be robots or paid shills in this forum? The prevalence of one line posts saying things like "Thanks for posting this in the Chevy Bolt forum" comes across as extremely odd to me. And I've noticed this pattern quite a lot here. I am a member of several...

What the Chevrolet Bolt EV Promises Early Adopters

The Bolt with FWD is not going to out-accelerate an i3 with RWD. Weight shifts backwards on launch. There is no beating physics!

This is what Tesla Owners said about the Bolt last year!

False. Everyone I know that enjoys the outdoors takes the faster route to get to their outdoor location--which means a highway!

Range, real world use case, etc.

We already know from EVs in the field that this is indeed wrong. It is a common story for dealers to block their own charges with ICE cars. Heck there is a BMW dealer right down the road from me know that had a ChargePoint dual-head charger offline for months! I'm not even sure if it's working...

Range, real world use case, etc.

Well said. If you can't depend on the charger working and available it actually worse than not existing at all!

    Chevy Bolt "Broke the Mold"

Going too much slower than the pace of traffic on the freeway can also create a safety issue. I agree with a heat pump being more important than aero for winter climates. That makes a difference at all speeds, unlike aero that matters mostly at freeway speeds.

Range, real world use case, etc.

I've had an EV for a year. I think the Bolt would easily work for your situation. Also you do not want to depend on dealers for charging. Trust me.

Best US states to buy EV

If that's the case it would make a lot more sense to lease and return then either buy new again or look to the used market.
