Will the 2017 Chevy bolt have power windows ?

Power windows wouldn't even make the top 50 list of itemized energy use in this car. Unless you are a weirdo that puts all the windows up, down, up, down continuously the entire trip. :P

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

It's not just likely, we know with 100% certainty that many EVs are sold with artificially high residual. I own one of them! Gathering the data doesn't require leasing yourself, just a wiliness to learn from others and that's as simple as a google search and a lease calculator. It seems to me...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

One other thing I forgot to mention are CARB credits. Manufacturers sometimes sell EVs at a paper loss because they make it up on their gas guzzler SUVs. GM is an example of company highly motivated by this since their SUVs are far more profitable. So the SUV buyers are effectively subsidizing...

Thanks for the report. Sounds hopeful! :D

    Bolt EV gripes

Even that case is changing to flash drives because small capacity drives in bulk are dirt cheap now and fewer and fewer people have access to a CD player each year. Check out how they sell pirated music on the streets these days:

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

Roundpeg, I think you have misunderstood about leasing. If you go into a lease and don't know anything about money factors, residuals, etc, sure you can get a bad deal. Just as signing any contract willy-nilly without understanding what it means would be a mistake. Every single aspect of a lease...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

I will almost certainly be leasing as car technology (powertrain + autonomous driving) is changing at the fastest rate in the history of the automobile and it makes economic sense to take advantage of EV rebates multiple times while they still exist.

    Purchase / Lease details

Has anyone leased yet? Even if you don't want to share your exact deal, it would be helpful to know these general terms: What state, mileage allotment, lease length, money factor, residual %, and whether the full $7500 was credited as a cap cost reduction.

Traction with low rolling resistance tires?

A FWD car is going to somewhat easily spin the drive wheels no matter what the tire compound is, because weight shifts backwards off the front wheels when you accelerate. I have not found my LRR tires to have noticeably different traction around curves. I'm driving a i3 so acceleration does not...

    US Order Guide

This doesn't match what I see. The Bolt comes with some standard features that aren't even optional on the Prius. CarPlay, 8" and 10" displays, heated steering wheel, doesn't look absolutely hideous , etc. Then you get into high tech stuff like the rearview mirror camera, surround view...

    US Order Guide

Odd that they don't list this anywhere. Their website says $34.99 is the only option. That said, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are not being honest and upfront based on my recent experience with OnStar. The free trial period expired and we were auto-charged for things we have never...

Bolt EV Canadian Pricing - $42,795 CAD - options and rebate info too

100% agree that defensive driving is the best way to reduce your risk, but there's absolutely nothing you can do when someone runs a red light and T-bones you in an intersection. That's where modern safety features really help.

The Chevy Bolt Will Cost $37,495

Model 3 Supercharger hardware: Free Supercharger use: ? (either one time pay or per use) Bolt EV CCS hardware: $750 CCS use: Up to network owner, but commonly rather pricey. Example Evgo is $6/session + 20 cents/min. Bolt loses both ways in this comparison as you have to pay for the hardware...

    Chevrolet Bolt EV gearbox details

This claim seems to always appear whenever a new FWD car comes out and in my experience, is never true. I can always feel the torque steer and it is awful when you are used to a RWD daily driver. I noticed the concept VW I.D. is RWD, but that is not due until 2020 (if it even happens then)...

Bolt EV Canadian Pricing - $42,795 CAD - options and rebate info too

Whenever people talk about keeping cars for many years they tend to ignore things like safety advancements. Sorry to be morbid, but what good is money in the bank when you're dead from a car accident? Given this fact, I would not universally agree that keeping a car 10+ years is a "smart move"...

    US Order Guide

The onstar nav with no map is rather poor value in my opinion at $37/mo. That's what I pay for my entire mobile phone service (voice+data)! :o I'm ok with the Bolt not including nav and expecting you to use Android Auto/CarPlay except for the fact that both of those require connecting and...

Wish List -- things I really want to see in the Bolt

Why are we assuming the Bolt doesn't balance the cells already? Seems like a rather obvious thing to miss during the design phase.

    A Car Dealers Won’t Sell: It’s Electric

Dang! Chevy touts their numerous third-party dealers as pro on their side vs Tesla. If this anecdote is true where dealers just opt-out of the Bolt entirely, then it sounds like it's not really an advantage at all. I guess we'll see!
