    March Infotainment update

I had mine done today. I made an appointment, let them know of the TSB number, and they took care of it in about an hour. Platinum Chevrolet in Santa Rosa, CA. My software is now version 14.1, and none of my personal settings were affected. All in all, a terrific job.

    Death to pedestrians!

OK, got it. Mine is 12/16.

    Death to pedestrians!

Not sure when mine was built, but one of the earliest. Can I tell from the VIN number?

    Death to pedestrians!

Hmm. Interesting. No, mine all work fine despite the PFAF fuse having been removed. Weird.

    Death to pedestrians!

It is a bit of a high pitched raspy sound. Kind of like when you breath out hard with your vocal chords strained. A breathy sound. I don't like it, so I took out the fuse. I suspect it does not bother most folks.

    Death to pedestrians!

OK, couldn't help myself. Today I removed fuse #34. I don't mind the idea of a noisemaker, but I just don't like this noisemaker. It makes kind of a high pitched grating sound. Just unpleasant. It seems to stop right at 14 mph. I can really hear it inside the car. So, out with the fuse, and now...

    Tesla 3 in wild??

I was probably hallucinating. But it was uncanny. When I got home I looked at the online photos, and it sure looked like it. Well, unless I see it again I won't be able to confirm.

    Tesla 3 in wild??

So, I was driving home today from work at about 6 PM on Highway 12 into Sebastopol in Northern California where I live. Going the other way was a white car, small, with the characteristic front of the new Tesla! Saw it for just a moment, but it sure looked like it. Any idea if they are testing...

Infotainment center software bugs with night mode

Thanks for the quick reply!! Nice to know you are there. Love the car. No, I haven't reached out to the dealership yet, but I could. I am such a busy fellow, as a full time eye surgeon, that the problem has not bugged me enough to warrant a visit to repair. I can if it would be helpful. I...

Infotainment center software bugs with night mode

Dear Bolt Team: Love the Bolt. Interesting software bug that is rather annoying. At night the center screen does the correct thing, and becomes the night theme with dark background. The 10 inch radio screen is supposed to do that too, but often upon starting the car at night it stays with the...

    auto seat heaters

The switch is a software image on the bottom of the infotainment screen. If you touch it it will turn it on and give a red dot.

    auto seat heaters

BoltPals: I have my front seat heaters set to auto on my LT. How can I tell when they are on? I have not seen the dash light come on in the infotainment screen showing they are heating. I set my heat to auto on cold mornings, and all is well, but I can't tell if the seats are heating or not. If...

Topping off at home with hill top reserve set

BoltPals: I have my home charging set up to use the hill top reserve, so the car charges to around 90% on the departure setting. I do that to preserve the battery long term, like I did with my Leaf. Probably not necessary, but there you have it. Now, some days I may want to do a full charge if...

    Tips for Long Distance Travel

This is an outstanding post, and I have bookmarked it. The Bolt allows one to think about longer range trips than I considered in my Leaf. The strategy is the key, and your method makes complete sense. Well done.

    Charging fails

I have not had any issues with the EVSE since the first week. I always take a look to make sure it is up properly before leaving the car. So far so good.

    Chargepoint and EVGo chargers

That is a clever article, and makes a lot of sense. Helps with the planning of a longer trip.

8 foot lumber in the Bolt

I had a Leaf also. Easier in the Leaf.

8 foot lumber in the Bolt

Oh, yes. The lift gate closed, and nothing was touching the dash or the lift gate plastic. I padded with the bags as seen in the photo. But, all was completely within the car.

    All-weather (rubberized) floor mats

\ Yes, exactly. I bought them directly from WeatherTech. I got grey as you see.
