    Bolt or Volt?

Just wondering if your wife has the new (2017+) or previous generation Volt (2016 or earlier)? I understand the new generation Volt is dramatically improved. Also, I think if you just browse the many threads on this forum, you'll get a really good impression of buyer experiences, good and bad...

BOLT SEAT ISSUE - no DATA thread

If GM is introducing an upgraded seat, it might possibly have a part number change, like xxxxa. We saw this in the 2016 Miata, which had a transmission defect. Mazda quietly fixed it during production, and changed the part number. The Miata forum is pretty well connected, and Mazda is really...

My Estimated 150 Mile Driving Report

This is a cool owner report. Thanks! You drive like I do. I've not yet driven the Bolt (next month in CT), and I wonder how the gas saving tires hold up in spirited cornering?

    Who belongs on this forum?

A question on another thread led me to start this thread, which I think is important. I can paraphrase the question, which was very politely asked and should not reflect negatively on the poster, as "Hey Scooter, you're always dumping on the Bolt. Why do you continue to post on this forum?". It...

    Bolt too expensive for me

EldRic - After some thought, I think you're question "why are you posting on this forum if you don't like the Bolt?" is a really, really good question and a great topic of discussion that might educate us all on good online citizenship. But I don't want to hijack this thread. So I created a...

    Bolt too expensive for me

I've said many times, I like the Bolt a lot, and I still do. I'm a Bolt fan. I'm not necessarily a GM fan. It's very fanboyish to demand that every posting on the forum absolutely adore everything about the Bolt, and totally dismiss it's defects. There's a place for tough love. I have tough...

    Bolt too expensive for me

Like I said, I think it has a certain charm. I saw it in a gorgeous deep red at one show and loved it on the spot. Then I got to know it better, and suddenly didn't love it so much that I needed to put a ring on it. The Bolt could use a semester at charm school.

Bolt Front Seats Recall Media Campaign

If you guys do a seat meetup, you should alert some of the auto media. And take pictures and give interviews. You could even just alert the EV sites like Electrek, Inside EVs, Green Car Reports, etc. Share your "aggrieved owners meetup" story with them. Watch GM suddenly jump through hoops to...

    Bolt too expensive for me

I think the OP was being generous, because when I look at the cramped, poorly equipped, hard-tired, bad-seated econobox we call the Bolt, I see a $15,000 car that would still need incentives to make a normal person buy it (incentives because it comes with severe range, refueling and comfort...

BOLT DEAD - REPLACING BATTERY...They should REPLACE THE CAR!

What I'm about to say is total conjecture, fair enough? There's a thread on this forum tracking how many members are actual Bolt owners. I think we've reached something like 30 or 40. And I think we have two owners who have reported dead Bolts. Let's call it 2 of 50. That's 4% of Bolts dying in...

Article on heavy Bolt discounting ($5,000 off in CA)

Leases make my head spin. The only thing I know for sure about leases is that I love people who lease expensive cars, because then I can buy them three years later at low mileage for half the cost of new.

The Mar 2017 EV Sales Numbers are in (978 Bolts)

I'm enough of an EV nerd to monitor Leaf inventory once a month on cars. com. Seems to be holding steady at around 1,500. When that number starts to really drop off, I'd assume it's an indication production has stopped and the new Leaf is on the way. Which is expected in late summer. I think...

The Mar 2017 EV Sales Numbers are in (978 Bolts)

I keep asking myself: Why aren't those 400,000 reservation holders lining up at GM dealerships to buy Bolts? After all, those M3 reservations are 100% refundable on demand? And probably lots of reservation holders live in CA just a few miles away from a dealership with plenty of Bolts in stock...

Bolt Front Seats Recall Media Campaign

Something else I'd offer from my own experience - 50+ years riding and driving cars of every type. I'm a car guy, and I must have sat in 500 different cars over that period. Mine, friends, auto shows, military, etc. Sports cars, trucks, SuVs, military vehicles, aircraft, motorcycles, bicycles...

Bolt Front Seats Recall Media Campaign

I'd love to see two forum members, one who has seats he hates, and one who has seats he loves, to swap Bolts for a day and report on the outcome. Now that would be an interesting experiment. Is it the butt, or is it the seat? Let's resolve it once and for all.

The Mar 2017 EV Sales Numbers are in (978 Bolts)

https://electrek.co/2017/04/03/chevy-bolt-ev-deliveries-us/ The Electrek version of the story is a lot more amusing. Especially the part about the Bolt having several years lead on the competition.

The Mar 2017 EV Sales Numbers are in (978 Bolts)

    >> Dealers typically finance every car they car they have in inventory I was about to take exception to that statement. But then I read this article that basically says the same thing. Kind of sounds like car dealers are between a rock and a hard place...

http://insideevs.com/chevrolet-volt-sales-hit-2017-high-in-march-while-bolt-ev-sales-struggle-with-inventory-issues/ I'll start with my usual disclaimer: I'm a clueless idiot watching from the sidelines. You can interpret the article's contents though your personal Bolt news filter. The site...

Honda Fuel Cell Clarity....Can't even give me one!

The ironic beauty of the original posting on this thread is that the author's complaints against a fuel cell vehicle almost exactly echo the general public's complaints against battery powered EVs.
