    Battery Charge Capacity

I know you didn't change 12A to 8A, but it wouldn't have made a difference. I'm pretty sure those setting apply to the included 120V charger, not a L2 charger.

Help me understand how regen works

According to my limited understanding, when you lift your foot off of the accelerator, the electric motor goes into generator mode (I assume there is some software that controls this?) and starts generating electricity, which goes back to the battery. This works because the rotor (magnet) is...

Vacation Rental in Mariposa, CA Near Yosemite with electric car charging station

Thank you for doing this. I live on the east coast or I would be all over this. Hopefully you'll get a lot of business :)

    CT - Lease advice appreciated

I don't know where the OP lives, but I've contacted dealers in CA and the New England states and it's a no-go unless you're a resident of those states. I'm in SC so no deal for me :(

    CT - Lease advice appreciated

If the car is equipped the way you want it and the price meets your target price, then yes, it's a good deal.

How much will my battery degrade after two years of charging to 100% almost every night?

Looks like maybe there's 26 DCFC over the 14 month period? If so, I assume there were many L2 charges during that time. Mostly at 100%?

Decided to Lease a Bolt This Week - What Is Your Opinon of these terms?

Selling price of $33,800 is an ok price given it's not an end of month or end of year deal. Sometimes you can get a slightly better deal if it is the last day of the month and the dealer needs to sell a car to meet a quota. But sometimes they've already met their quota and won't offer as good...

Decided to Lease a Bolt This Week - What Is Your Opinon of these terms?

Hard to say without more information Sticker? Capitalized cost? Residual? Money factor? FWIW I was offered a '19 LT with DCFC and a couple of packages for ~550/mo lease. No money down, 3 yr, 10K per year. Includes all taxes and fees but sales tax is "only" $500 here in South Carolina. I...

How much will my battery degrade after two years of charging to 100% almost every night?

I've owned cars for 50 years and never leased one, until now. Technology is changing so quickly and I don't want to be "stuck" with very outdated technology. The $35K Model 3 is projected to have a 50KW battery, so the Bolt is better in that regard. VW, BMW and Mercedes have aggressive plans...

The Q4 Numbers are in for GM.

Overall down from last year about 14% for Chevy, but up 78% overall for EV's https://insideevs.com/monthly-plug-in-sales-scorecard/?fbclid=IwAR3QSQ-1TKRvpQq98veoo-gE3WlUPAgzgE8R3Crkc6zWsFMrw6kLtuYvfo0

Phaseout of Federal tax credit for GM

If I read the chart correctly, current US conditions for battery prices are around $200/KWh. Is that correct? IF so, that puts a 60KWh battery at $12K. I don't know what a gasoline engine costs but my thoughts are it's < $12K, which makes ICE a cheaper option. The chart compares EV battery...

Phaseout of Federal tax credit for GM

I guess the law is the law, but Chevy's EV sales numbers are "inflated" due to the Volt. The Volt was good at the time, but only offered ~30 miles electric range. I wish the government would change the law so that only BEV's are counted. Oh well...

Mountains to the Sea: EV Road Trip Made Possible by a 60 kWh Battery

Price Check on 2019 Bolt LT - Is This a Good/Great Deal?

Almost 18% discount. Looks pretty good to me. And, I assume you can still get the $7500 tax credit from the IRS.

    YAMMV - Close call

GOM was 57% off. That's huge. But I agree that it's probably based on previous driving habits. So the lesson is, if you're going to change your driving habits, the GOM can be waaaay off.

Questions about Tire Sealant and Comoressor Kit

I don't remember where I bought the plug kit, but it was probably at an auto parts store (AutoZone or the equivalent). It really doesn't matter, though. They're all the same. I haven't had any experience with self seal tires after a puncture. Until I do, I would carry a tire plug kit for backup.

Is $7,500 EV Tax Credit still available?

It's unfortunate Chevy doesn't pass the credit along to the leasee. BMW gives a 7500 "rebate" (aka the tax credit) AND uses a high residual on the i3. I assume they do this to move the cars. Anyway, it makes leases very attractive for i3's.

Questions about Tire Sealant and Comoressor Kit

I don't think you can put sealant into a tire to make it a self sealing tire. A sharp object, like a nail, would pierce the dried sealant and the tire would leak. IMO I wouldn't put sealant in a tire anyway. It tends to coat the wheel and make it difficult to balance. Also it's hard to...

Is $7,500 EV Tax Credit still available?

Thanks SparkE for the detailed explanation. I would add that if you lease, the leasing company gets the tax credit, not you. That way you don't have to file for it at the end of the year. So you should make sure the credit is added into the lease calculation. Sometimes you gotta ask. Edit...
