    Charging at Electrify America

EA has been hit or miss for me. The card readers are particularly troublesome, so lately I've been using the app which works much better. Sometimes I have to back in and sometimes I have to pull in to make the cords work. It's gotten to the point that I don't bother calling EA if a charger...

Chevrolet announces update to all 2017-2019 Bolts with fast charging

Yes, it's on the service bulletin. In fact, the dealer is not supposed to do the update unless the customer complains about slow charging during cold weather.

Chevrolet announces update to all 2017-2019 Bolts with fast charging

I thought it only improved cold weather charging? If so, you'd have to go back in winter.

    air conditioner problem

The Bolt has an automatic defrost feature that is set to "on" by default. This will cause the A/C and or heat to come on when you don't want it to. You can go into the climate settings and turn this feature "off".

(Generic) news of DCFC in Calif

Yes, he made it. He said it was ~175miles from Bishop to Mojave. He charged to 85% in Bishop, drove at 65-70mph, and arrived at Mojave with 5% battery.

(Generic) news of DCFC in Calif

I think News Coulomb (Eric Way) just did that.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvywO_y2q_8

New to EVs, buying a used Bolt in a few months. Which accessories / equipment do I need?

I won't go into the packages you need (backup camera, blind spot monitor, etc). These are pretty much the same for all cars. There is one option (described below) that is worth considering. For charging, you have to consider how you will be using your car. The Bolt is supplied with a charger...

    What's this "identifier" thing?

I suppose it's some sort of GPS tracking device that's hidden in your car. Kind of like LoJack, which has been around for awhile. Yeah, woe to the guy who tries to "hot wire" a Bolt :o  8-)

Range indicator said "Low" then Bolt immediately died.

I don't see a record of the PM being sent. Try this link: https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/96-miles-on-full-charge.34316/

I sent you a private message pointing to other sources for help.

What should I do when the power goes down?

I don't think it makes a difference if you leave it plugged in or not. Having said that, there are instructions all over the internet that will show you how to hook up an inverter to your car which will enable you to power a few small items in your house during a power outage. Another...

    Should I buy a 2020?

Congrats. Let us know how it works out for you.

    experience with lease return process?

I turned in early once and in addition to what you mentioned above, I got a pro-rated refund on my property taxes. I had to ask my local tax authority for it....it didn't happen automatically.

    Should I buy a 2020?

Yes. And the OP states he will not use climate control if necessary.

    Should I buy a 2020?

in my experience, yes, it will work. I get around 4 miles/kWh if I drive 65 with no heat or A/C. Increase the speed to 70 and use heat, you'll get around 3. With a 66kWh battery on the 2020 Bolt, you'll get 198 mile range at 3 miles/kWh. So, no worries! You'll need an L2 charger at home...

Update on Non-Tesla DC Fast Charging Station Density in North America

I've read that the cords on the EA chargers are short and having two per station would allow charging from either side, since there is no standard for charge port location.

Regen in L doesn't always work

I don't know about the Bolt, but Tesla batteries must be a certain temp for regen to "work". If you've driven your car for 35K miles, I assume it's been cold before, but apparently you haven't had this condition before. I also assume you know that regen doesn't work if the battery is full...

    Not charging anywhere near 238

I guess you understand cold weather and use of the heater really reduce range, as well as driving speed. What is your average miles/kWh (shown on the "dash" behind the steering wheel) ? You can do a rough calculation by multiplying your miles/kWh by 60 (the battery capacity) to get total range...

    Heated rear seats

Chevy Bolt with Premium trim has heated rear seats. I think the Tesla model 3 does as well but I didn't search for it. https://media.chevrolet.com/media/us/en/chevrolet/vehicles/bolt-ev/2019.html
