How can I read mpge while driving?

There's no way that I know of. The most meaningful metric to me (and most of us) is miles/kWh. You can get a rolling 5 mile average on your info screen. You might be able to get this as an instantaneous readout by using Torque Pro. Check this out: https://allev.info/boltpids/

    Charging at Electrify America

Yeah, my first try with EA was a fail. I called customer service and they recommended swiping my card instead of using the chip. That worked a lot better. After that, I got the app which worked even better. So now I recommend using the app to start a charge at EA. Edit: I had to put money...

    Phantom Power Usage?

Is it consistently one kWh every day? Or one kWh over, say, a week? The battery management system will come on from time to time, but it's strange that it happens at 60F. I think the only way to know for sure is to get torque pro and monitor what's going on.

    Charging At Home

Ah yes, the old flashing red light question. It means the car alarm is active. It's buried in the manual and difficult to find. Yeah, I didn't know my car had one either. By the way, I also see it when using my 240V ClipperCreek charger...

    Recall software question

Others have reported that the software "update" limits charge to 95% instead of 90%. So you're not alone.

Need tips on traveling from Los Angeles to SF

Get the Plugshare app for your phone. Make sure you have the filters set correctly and read the most recent comments, especially about reliability. The Bolt uses J1772 (level 2 charge, like your home and work), and CCS (for DC Fast Charging). The DCFC charging was an option, I assume your car...

    RECALL

There's a website where you can enter your vin and it will tell you if your car has been recalled for the fire issue. That's what I mean by "the list". Sorry, I don't have a link but a google search should turn it up.

    RECALL

I assume if your car isn't on the list, it won't be in your dealer's system either. If that's the case, taking it to the dealer won't help. But, out of an abundance of caution, I would not charge over 90% until we know more. Just out of curiosity, what is your build date? (stickier on the...

    Recommended Tire Brands

Are you happy with the OEM tires? If so, I'd go back with them. Keep in mind the OEMs are low rolling resistance (yes, it makes a difference) and are also self sealing (Bolt does not have a spare). Some have reported tire slippage in wet weather with the OEMs, but if you're happy with them...

    climate control issues

Most likely your auto defrost is set to "on". This causes the heat and/or A/C to come on at inopportune times, even if the heat or A/C is set to off. It's a common issue and is buried in the settings. So a search for where it is if you can't easily find it.

2017 LT touch Screen not responsive

Your warranty expired at 36K miles/3 years. Chevy might do a good will replacement if you ask.

2017 Bolt: First Design Battery vs Second Design Battery

I didn't watch the video but I'm not aware of any battery changes GM made from 2017-2019 (2020 has a slightly increased kWh). Your indicated range is a calculation based on your previous driving habits (mi/kWh, tire pressure, temperature, etc) and rarely reflects an exact number. I watch my...

AC charging - how to raise 12 amps limit?

The 32 amp charge rate is for 240 volts. I don't know what a Zencar type1 is but it sounds like if you hook it up to a 240V plug it will deliver 32 amps. Level 1 is typically120V, level 2 is typically 240 volts, although I think you can hook the charger that came with the car up to 240 volts...

    Hot while charging

I've heard my cooling fan come on a time or two (sounds like a jet engine) and I don't remember the garage being hot. If you're concerned, you can get torque pro and get readings on battery temp.

    Cameras didn't turn off

As a last resort, you can "reset" the computer by unhooking the 12V battery. I had to do it once....I removed the negative lead (10mm wrench) and let it sit for about 10 seconds, then reconnected. Everything was back to normal. I don't remember but it probably reset my settings to factory...
