Driving in L uses More Energy?

Short answer, no, I have not experienced this. Longer answer: I can't really comment on why you didn't get regen while "going to the store" and driving in L. Regen depends on how you modulate the accelerator and the terrain. Also, your miles per kWh depend on a lot of things. Regen is one...

Real life winter "stuck in traffic" numbers

The Bolt's heater uses at most 7kW to get the car warm, then maybe half that to keep it that way. So if it uses 4 kW and you have a 50% charge (30kWh) you could keep the heat on for about 7 hours. I'm not sure a gasoline car would last that long, but in any event you'll be fine. However, it is...

Extension cord use for 2020 Bolt

Yes. The 5 amp setting will increase charging time by a factor of 2.4 vs the 12 amp setting.

    Did I do Any Damage?

I think you're fine. That grinding sound you heard was probably the parking brake being applied.

Can the Bolt be left on when charging at a 3rd Party place?

Yes, and it's advantageous to do so in the winter. It activates the battery heater and allows your car to charge faster. I do it all the time.

Keeping the 2020 Bolt plugged in

If you keep it plugged in it's best to limit charge level to 90% or less. Charge up to 100% if you're going to leave soon and you need the extra range. Once charged, the battery will pull little to no extra power (no effect on utility bill). If it's really cold in the winter, it might pull a...

Mileage/charge limitation after using Electrify America

To answer your question, I am not having that issue

Mileage/charge limitation after using Electrify America

The range shown on your screen is an estimate. Some say it's a guess and call the screen a guess-o-meter, or GOM. I don't pay too much attention to range because so many things affect it. I pay attention to battery %. Regarding charging, even though EVgo is billed as 50kW, I've never seen that...

Good "online" place to buy used Bolt

I'm not sure the US charging ports are compatible with Euro plugs. And then there's the import taxes, etc. It's generally not recommended to import an EV from the US to Europe.

Bolt doesn't acknowledge when fully charged

I dunno. Could be that the 12V is charging which means it's (slowly) depleting the main battery, so the main battery keeps charging. Or maybe something else. 1kW is a slow charge rate and parasitic losses could eat that up. Will it finally get to 95% and stop? I'd try a L2 charger and see...

Sierra Nevada East Side Open More DCFC Stations on US 395

Of course this is good news. I sometimes travel the 395 corridor and new chargers are welcome. It seems that people traveling to national parks use that corridor. Kinda reminds me of Rivian who's putting DCFC in remote areas so people can experience the outdoors in their new Rivian trucks...

    RECALL

thanks for your insight, @charge. I'm wasn't aware of problems with Ford Focus elec. I did a quick search and see that they had some issues with the pinion shaft. Did they have other issues ?

    RECALL

For some reason the buybacks vary from state to state. People have speculated it's because of lemon laws, even though no one has made a claim under a lemon law AFAIK. It seems that Chevy is using each state's lemon laws to determine how much to pay for the buy back. My state has weak lemon...

Just bought a new 2021 Bolt and the AC doesn't work

I don't think your problem is auto defog, but in general you should set it to "off". It's buried in the settings somewhere and will cause your heat or A/C to come on when you least expect it if you leave it in the on position.

    Measured battery capacity 63.2 kWh

Good test and write up, thanks. Yes it's helpful. And you get extra points for using the term "ESR" which I haven't seen when referring to batteries but it's appropriate and helps my understanding. thanks

    Heated seats and steering wheel

I'm not sure but I think the remote start uses the same settings that were on the last time you turned the car off.

My experience with the Grizzl-e EVSE that we bought

Sorry to hear about your friend's experience. I'm not sure any company would have paid for the uninstall/re-install, but at least they should have paid for shipping. FWIW I haven't had a problem with my ClipperCreek but I had a very good experience with their customer service before I bought...
