Sorry just noticed at the start of the video it specifies 'Albatross' as the Bolt electric vehicle in the video.

Autonomous Chevy Bolt EVs drove 9776 miles in 2016

Cruise Automation (the software company partnering with GM to work on autonomous driving) released video #2 of their Chevy Bolt EV (the one named Platypus I guess?) https://youtu.be/Vfgjemwc9NU

How big of a box can I fit in the back?

Wrong dimensions - 2 feet is the depth of the trunk. It's human sized:

Do you think I'll be able to tow a small boat with the Bolt?

Installation time is quoted at 40 minutes It made it to the Wiki already: http://www.electricvehiclewiki.com/Chevy_Bolt_Trailer_Hitch

Do you think I'll be able to tow a small boat with the Bolt?

In BC, according to my local ICBC agent, trailer liability insurance is only for when the trailer becomes disconnected and is a vehicle of its 'own'. When attached to a tow vehicle, the liability of the tow vehicle covers the trailer as well. As for specific damage to the trailer, not sure.

    Automated car wash

Typically you sit in the car as it goes through. If you open the door part way through your car gets full of water - seems low risk unless a child is driving

Canada - When can we expect Bolts?

Hmm conflicting reports. According to this place: http://technewsgazette.com/2017/02/05/first-chevrolet-bolt-evs-delivered-in-canada-through-dealerships/ First Bolts were delivered in BC, Ontario and Quebec. Although who really cares - it's finally here!

    Can't add False Floor later?

In that photo it looks like the 'bump out' is moulded into the side panel - if so, then you couldn't simply unbolt from a different Bolt and add it to your car. However, if that's a pre-production car they may have changed it into an add-on panel piece after making the false floor a buyer's...

How big of a box can I fit in the back?

As long as you can get the box through the opening, you could fit something as large as 3 feet by 4 feet, and 2 feet wide. So, for a TV, you could get one that is 3x4 (roughly a 42 inch) and up to 2 feet deep :) Or, wait for a sunny day and put it on the roof. Or, pay Best Buy $50 to deliver...

Predictions on January sales of Bolt EV?

Last month, in only a half month of sales, GM moved 579 Bolt EVs, and that was only through a couple dealerships until December 28th IIRC. My guess is 1700 which would be amazing and set all sorts of EV records for January.

    Automated Car Wash Mode

Good to know - is that from the Blot owners manual, or do you know someone on the inside :)

Do you think I'll be able to tow a small boat with the Bolt?

Why not get a boat dolly or rig up a set of wheels on the boat? Then you don't have to even get your EV on a wet ramp or partially submerged. A 175 pound boat on a set of wheels should be easy to manhandle. https://www.amazon.com/Brocraft-Standard-Launching-Inches-Wheels/dp/B01CE4FBVW/

Do you think I'll be able to tow a small boat with the Bolt?

I disagree. The average weight of an American man is 195 pounds, towing a 175 lb boat is no different than adding an extra adult passenger. (unsure how much a trailer weighs, but for a boat that size it could be a very small trailer). Now if you had said the brakes weren't designed for 5 large...

Do you think I'll be able to tow a small boat with the Bolt?

The rear lights are in the bumper, or at least mostly in the bumper. Plus, depends on when you are towing. Some states/provinces don't require lights on the trailer if: you're driving in daytime, and the vehicle's lights are still visible past the trailer and the load

Video review by Fast Lane Car

I don't think I agree that the Bolt being FWD makes it a 'deal breaker' for everyone living in Colorado. I've lived on the prairies and FWD cars with good tires do great as long as the snow isn't too deep. Also an interesting tidbit is that they say at full throttle (which I assume means full...

    Some dealerships are charging extra

Just wanted to add this as a warning to people looking to buy a Bolt EV - not everyone is offering $1000 or $1500 off MSRP :) This dealership has a $5000 'market adjustment' added to the sticker. Be careful out there! From InsideEVs...
