Metallic Grinding Sound at Low Speed

It was the pedestrian friendly alert function. Page 264 of the owners manual will show you the location of the fuse box. Page 265 shows you the location of the individual fuses. Page 266 shows you that fuse #34 is the pedestrian friendly alert function. Thanks for the help.

Metallic Grinding Sound at Low Speed

Been a Bolt owner for a week and am still learning the car. Took a while to figure out the radio needs to be muted with the volume turned down rather than turned off???? My current question is that I have a metallic grinding noise (like a brake issue) when the car is at low speed. It goes away...

Looking at buying vs leasing - never leased before

https://insideevs.com/chevrolet-mightve-revealed-2020-electric-crossover/ Is it worth it to lease for 3 years and upgrade to a possible next generation or buy now? A lot of manufacturers are claiming to have new EV's out by 2021.

Looking at buying vs leasing - never leased before

http://www.qualitychevy.com/VehicleSearchResults?search=all&make=Chevrolet&model=Bolt+EV&trim=LT&year=2017 This is a dealership in Escondido, California. As predicted by oilerlord here is a $6,500 off MSRP sale on 2017 Bolts. I called the dealership and they said it apply's to sales as well as...

Looking at buying vs leasing - never leased before

Pinned down a sales manager and asked how lease deals are calculated. The standard residual for a low mileage (less than 10,000 miles) lease is set at 61% of MSRP. They figure a 3 year old, 30,000 mile car is going to be worth 39% less. A $40,000 MSRP car will have a residual of $24,400. Take...

How does the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit Work

So if I owe $7,600 in federal income tax (and paid that much in in payroll tax deductions throughout the year) my tax bill will be $100 and the IRS will send me a check for $7,500?

How does the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit Work

I would like to buy a new Chevy Bolt rather than lease. One of the things holding me back is how the federal tax credit works. It seems simple, like asking how to bake a pie, but depending on who you ask you get a different response. I have heard you get the full amount, and heard you may only...

Looking at buying vs leasing - never leased before

Don't count on getting the full $7,500 tax credit. You only get whatever your tax bill is. If you are owed a refund you get nothing. If you owe $1,000 that,s all you get. https://www.edmunds.com/fuel-economy/the-ins-and-outs-of-electric-vehicle-tax-credits.html

    Used EV Battery Testing

Battery life on EV's can be variable due to how they are treated. I was offered a good deal on a pre owned Volt but I would like to check the condition of the battery pack. Does anyone know if there is a way to test a used EV's battery capacity? Looking for a more accurate reading than the bars...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

There is a dealer in San Diego offering this deal on their website. It is for a base model LT with no options and an MSRP of $37,695. If you want a more expensive Bolt the lease will be higher. It is for $129 a month for 36 months with $4,995 down (or $264.75 a month with $0 down) which adds up...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

I too would like to buy a Bolt but compared to other $40,000 cars the leases being offered for a Bolt are a good deal for this car. There is a dealer locally offering $4,000 off the purchase of all Bolts. Buy a $40,000 Bolt (Minus the $4,000) with $5,000 down, finance $31,000 at 3.9% APR from GM...

    EV Infrastructure after Natural Disaster

After the last 2 hurricanes hit the U.S. I heard about fuel shortages for ICE cars and long waits at gas stations if they had any gas at all. This also affected people trying to evacuate because there was concern of gas stations along the way having any fuel. I was wondering what it would be...

Rear Cargo Board is Dealer Optional

This is $100 extra option from the factory if you have the LT. The side plastic pieces in the trunk are different as they have mounting points molded in. Very few LT's come with this option but is standard with the Premier. If your Premier did not come with it that dealer has some explaining to do.

    Turn off auto door locks?

If I can change the subject just a little bit. I am looking at getting a Bolt. I am resigned to the fact that the doors are going to lock (should be an option) when the car moves. The car I currently have does not allow for all the doors to unlock when I turn the car off and open the drivers...

Capital Chevrolet in San Jose -- Deals

On my BMW i3 lease there is a buyout number that when they leased it to me they knew it was going to be high. They said they would negotiate to sell it for market value (Their assessment) and sell it to me for that. Does GM have a history of doing this or do they stick to the contract?
