EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

EvGo in San Luis Obispo (CA) (Marigold Center) allows to restart after 45 minutes by remote with the app. EvGo at Gilroy (CA) Premium Outlets does not have a 45 minute limit, but one unit was only putting out 50 amps (16 kw) and the other one 100 amps (32 kw).

    Hello from ChargePoint!

They only sell the hardware. Not the power or parking fees.

    Hello from ChargePoint!

ChargePoint- Why oh why are you ENCOURAGING Tesla owners to use ChargePoint stations in the latest EV Driver News newsletter?!?!?¿¿¿ Yes it’s a free country. Yes many (most) ChargePoint stations are open to the general public. Yes Tesla owners are “allowed” to use ChargePoint. However...

    Dolly towing a Chevy Bolt

Almost certainly the car will power down if the battery SOC gets too low. Even in neutral. Someone should test this while watching. (You sound like a good candidate.). :D Watch the car and turn it off 15 minutes after your last battery bar goes dark if the car does not shut itself off...

    Air Conditioning

No. There is always an instant change in range the moment the heat or AC goes on. It makes some general assumptions. However, the A/C uses about half the power as heat.

Looks like at some Charge America stations they have a 10 minute or 20 minute grace period before charging you for “idle time”. At some (not all) ChargePoint stations they will email and / or text you that A) your time limit is up - please move your vehicle within 15 minutes B) your vehicle...

First 350 kW charging station in U.S. is open!!

So far this does not excite me. The Bolt EV was shown pulling 56 kw from the wall. If the cooling system was on at the same time, this means probably less than 50 kw going into the battery. This charge rate will save you about 1 or 2 minutes over a typical DCFC that can put 46 kw to the...

    Steering wheel comming loose

Took it to a dealer at 8am Saturday. It was there 8am to 4:30pm. Only for them to tell me: It’s the pinion gear of the rack & pinion steering, and they don’t have the part, and it will be 10 to 14 days before they can get the part. And it’s a TWO DAY job to replace it. They will give me a...

    Question: Ever been ICE'd?

I like this idea and have often thought about doing something like this. In reality I’ve only been ICE’d 2 times in a year. (Bay Area, CA) I’d like to go one step “stronger” and have some printed on stickers. You know, so it takes the ICE owner a minute or two to actually remove it, and...

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

You guys probably know this, but..... With the new 45 minute time limit and new price policy of 20 cents per minute (no matter how much power you take) the charging automatically stops at 45 minutes. BUT THEY KEEP CHARGING YOU 20 CENTS PER MINUTE FOR AS LONG AS THE CORD IS ATTACHED TO YOUR...

BoBattery failure - How good is the warranty going to be?

Thanks for the updates. I’m 90% sure you will get a whole new battery pack. I live in California and got my Bolt in Feb. 2017. (I think it was a December 2016 built car.) Mine was driving fine. No loss of range or warning messages. Chevy customer care called me out of the blue telling me...

My Bolt was in the shop for 13 days. 12 days waiting for the battery. Less than 1 day to install it.

    Battery Conditioning Summer

I don’t have specifics but I know the battery tolerates (performs better) in hot conditions compared to cool/cold. In fact, watch that driving “score” page. In the 70’s and below I get a low score. In the 90’s I get a high (happy) score. One “help” screen says optimal temperature is 77’F...

    Steering wheel comming loose

Ok. The “loose” clunking sound seems to be coming from inside the car. Like the bolts connecting the actual wheel to the actual steering shaft. Probably so. I’ll need to drive 250 miles before I can take it in though.

    Steering wheel comming loose

My steering wheel all of a sudden developed play or slop and is making clunking noise. How do I post an iPhone video?

Problems, Bugs, Weird Stuff, Glitches, Concerns Here

Today I drove at highway speeds on an 85 degree day. Probably warmed up the battery pretty well. Came down a freeway offramp 70 mph to 0 and did a big slug of regen. Then went right to a 50kw DCFC. It was now after dusk, 68 degrees F outside. Noticed the AC was running right away to cool...

Amazon Package Delivery To Your Bolt

Now instead of stealing your package, thieves will steal your package and break into your car as a bonus. Great!

Is my Bolt in danger of being hacked?

I agree. You have mostly the risk of someone using your wifi in the car (if you pay for it, I do not) or them looking at how many miles you have on the ODO and looking at your battery SOC. Who cares? Who wants to go through the trouble. I wonder about people possibly cloning the key fob to...

Capital Chevrolet in San Jose -- Deals

I heard one of those “one at this price” ads on local San Jose Radio. So you have to take thier stripped model in whatever color. But if I recall it was $6000 down and you were only allowed 6000 miles a year or something. For $100 per month.
