Has anyone had this problem? Key Fob, Bolt won't start.

If you leave any 12v accessories on, I think everything is supposed to shut off after 10 minutes. I notice this all the time when I am parked waiting for someone, I lose the radio, dome light, power windows, etc after 10 minutes every time. Since this car burns no gas “idling” when parked, I...

myChevrolet app vehicle status does not update

The information on your screen was correct. It did not actully say your car would be done in 1 hour. It said your car will be done in 25 hours. ( one day plus 1 hour ) It up to you to be smart enough to know the difference. Like why do CAR clocks have AM and PM displays? Should be obvious.

Winter, hilltop reserve, and battery conditioning

Keep in mind DRIVING it is the best way to warm up the battery. And that is FREE heat (normally waste heat). If you do not need full power in the first mile or two of your commute, I see no reason to waste grid power on heating the battery beyond the bare minimum to get you rolling in the...

    Useful charging info for newcomers

I finally got around to plugging the Chevy provided 12 amp EVSE into a 208 VAC socket (I measured it at 210 volts no load) at work. And yup. Without any modifications at all, it is charging my Bolt right now at 2.52 kw. The “time to complete” appropriately adjusted in the app. (The Bolt...

    "Full" battery levels dropping daily

I have done as close to a scientific measurement as possible. I went an entire “tank” at 3.9 to 4.0 miles per kWh. (3.96 miles per kWh is the EPA rating of 238 miles per full charge.) Then I did a full charge. When new, this = 238 miles. Now, at 10 months and 10,400 miles, I get 234...

    Variable Hilltop Reserve charge

I went for 7 or 8 weeks (2000 miles +/-) without ever going to 100%. After my charging experience, I now make sure to go to 100% once or twice a month. I always drive right away (ok, within an hour or two) after hitting 100% so my car does not sit there very long.

    Recommended seat covers?

Why buy expensove ones when $29 ones fit great, look great, and feel great? You have to settle for black faux leather but I love mine. See the photos elsewhere. Black with Chevy emblem. http://www.mychevybolt.com/forum/download/file.php?id=152

    Variable Hilltop Reserve charge

All of this is true. Also be sure to do a complete charge once a month so the batteries can balance and the guess-o-meter (and you) don’t have to guess how full it is. Measuring electrons is a lot harder than measuring gallons. Once I went to a DCFC after a long time of never reaching...

    This car is amazing!

I drive 50 miles a day and only have 120 volt outlets at home and work. 12 hours will put in 50 miles so it’s easy to break even. Talk to your employer about using a regular outlet to charge. Tell them it requires no special equipment or capital investment on their part. Tell them the power...

Front teardown pics for the curious

Photos not visible or clickable. To post in the body of your message, they have to be increddibly small by today’s standards. Under 100kb each I think.

    Low battery data collection

I only went half a mile to a charging station after breaking the 5% threshold.

    Low battery data collection

At one (amber) bar remaining (5%) I got PPIR. I was in city driving, and didn’t notice any loss in driveability. (Was under 45 mph at this time). It lets you drive all the way to 0% (which is 0% of the usable range, the battery is by no means “dead” at this point.) Maximum power to the...

    Winter Tires & Wheels

The battery impact wrench is very similar to a battery drill. Just a little bigger/stronger. You’d use it with the wheels off the ground. It will take your nuts off in 1 to 2 seconds. There is not the same leverage as a manual lug wrench. The energy is very focused. You won’t have the...

myChevrolet app vehicle status does not update

It was not working over the weekend, monday, or early tuseday. Mine starting working normally again late in the day tuesday. I didn’t do anything. I just waited for Chevy to fix things on their end. Seems they worked it out. I’m on the West Coast, if you are wondeing, incase problems are...

6 Months Later, 107 miles each way to work, 120F Desert Heat

I drive 22 miles 1 way. About 18 are freeway. I drive other than rush hour. I can drive 60 mph or 80 mph, my choice (almost) every day there is no road work or crashes along the way. 60 mph = 4.2 miles per kWh 80 mph = 2.2 miles per kWh 80 mph saves me 4 minutes. 80 mph costs me almost...

    Lockable 110v Charging in Public

Fast, but not as fast as you might think. Since the battery pack is 36 volts, and the DCFC circuit is limited to 125 amps, you can only charge at 4.5 kw. Less than standard Level 2. So about 15 minutes to “DCFC” whille 120 VAC will take about 1 hour.

myChevrolet app vehicle status does not update

I called Chevy customer care. They have a KNOWN ISSUE WITH THEIR SERVERS. They however, do not have anyone working on the issue over the weekend. (Dumb for a company this large.). :x They expect services to be rectified some time on Monday. Without my asking anything of them, they...

myChevrolet app vehicle status does not update

Mine has completly stopped working also. Worked perfectly from the day I got it in February, until about Oct.19. I wonder what happened? This is ‘about’ the time I updated my apple iOS but not sure if it exactly coincides.
