    Reoccuring Rodent Damage

Bummer! I faintly remember old stories of critters liking some cars more than others but it's probably random bad luck. I would suggest placing a dozen traps in around the parking area to give them something more enticing. Worth a try anyway.

Looking for CCS Type 1 to Type 2 fast charge adaptor pinout

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_Charging_System https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAE_J1772 I don't see anything on Amazon nearly as expensive as you mentioned. The Bolt uses CCS, which as far as I know is the same world wide so I'm confused about what you mean with Type 1 and Type 2, but...

    Auto braking question

Should my 2017 Premier be able to auto brake? I have the warning red lights that flash and beep when I'm coming up on something to fast but I haven't ever felt like it was going to stop without my input. I have the lane keep warning but we lack the auto cruise control. Yesterday I read somewhere...

    Bolt accessory button questions

I would suggest doing a cross reference of the part to see what other GM's it fits. Then try to track one down in a salvage yard.

    OEM Tire warranty

Tire warranty is often hard to get and most EV's have short lived tires due to the high torque involved. Unless you have documented proof (a shop, not yourself in the driveway) of regular rotations it probably isn't worth your hassle to work through the system. But you can float an email to the...

    2020 Bolt battery

But at that point I doubt I would install a new battery pack unless it cost 3-4 grand. In just the next two years there will be more new EV choices available, more advanced tech, and more EV's on the used market. Rather than spend $12K to $15K on a newer year battery I think a newer car would...

Anyone have this sway bar problem?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNFRMsAMmOg I'm only at 22K miles but about done with the 36 month basic wty. I hope it's only a subset of cars and not most of them!

    Cold Weather Issues

Hasn't been below 20F in my area yet at night and they're forecasting a fairly mild December. I'm sure it will get bitter cold Jan-Feb and since I park outside most days I'll have it plugged in every night just so the car can protect the battery if it feels the need to. And I'll let it...

Sadly Chevrolet is supporting Trump's attack on California's fuel standards.

And Toyota, Subaru, Mazda etc. Basically every legacy manufacturer that is way behind in EV development because they misread the future. The leadership has spent 40 years in ICE development and it's all they know. With 20+ new EV's coming to market in the next couple years they are doing...

Bolt Front Seats Recall Media Campaign

There are links to a few people that have inserted some extra foam into the seats. I found it easiest to get some nice seat pads from Amazon but I'm not using them now to get the benefit of the seat heaters. I'm fortunate that my commute is short enough that I get by with the seats okay. They...

    12 volt AGM battery

I haven't tried it but I am positive that in a pinch a lead acid would be fine, like stranded in a ghost town and you want to get home. That said, long term I'd stick with a AGM with the same rating that came with the car, the way the engineers designed it. I know they're expensive though but...

Snow cover for the charging port?

I found a cheap solution online in a photo. One of those plastic dome covers meant for outside garden hose spigots. I cut off the rubber tightener, sealed the hole on the end, and then used a scissors to cut about a two inch gap on one flat side. Plug in the cable and then place the cover over...

    Winter Tires

You'll have to research it but I'm pretty sure that studded tires are only for roads that are always snow and ice covered and in that case yes, studs are the best bet (driving within reason and the laws of physics). On cold, dry pavement that a lot of regions have most winter days I think studs...

    Winter Tires

Early update. I've had the Nokian WR G4's about 120 miles so far, enough to wear off the mold release. They look nice and actually appear to be a little wider than OEM but they're the same size so it could be an illusion. So far I'm satisfied with the purchase. Dry Traction: Definitely more dry...

    chargers and charging habits

Yes, every vehicle I know of has the upper and lower buffer, the lower being the most important I believe I've read. So our 60 kWh battery is in fact something like 64+ and it's adjustable via software by GM. I think a recent update might have increased the buffer slightly on the Bolt, which...

What about a elec heating pad on dash?

They are probably about 180 watts but they're designed for direct contact (sore back muscles) rather than radiating heat at a distance. I suspect your dash will be warmed but the windshield won't benefit. But I guess you could find out with a $20 heating pad.

    chargers and charging habits

Yeah, what xflow7 said. The general consensus on the Net has been keeping cars between 20-80% for best long term health. We don't have any 10 year old Bolts to provide us with historical data but at least it has active thermal management for peace of mind. I have a 2017 so it only has Hilltop...
