    Really Flaky USB connection

Yes, the Premier adds two on the back of the center console for rear passengers. But I just measured mine again charging my old iPhone SE and a AA battery charger and the best amps reading I got was .98 so pretty weak as far as charging goes. And from experience I know plugging in my phone to...

    Really Flaky USB connection

Sounds like that port isn't putting out a full 5v and your drive isn't getting quite enough power, which your phone also indicates. Which port are you using? My USB tester shows 5.15v on all four ports on my 2017 Premier.

    Black spots on side mirror?

2017 Premier. Several "spots" on the bottom edge about a quarter inch in size, sort of like the "silver" backing has corroded or flaked off. Being my first domestic car in about 40 years I assume this is normal for Chevy? Anyone else have this issue? I did recently get the notice that my...

    EV Battery Degradation Comparison Tool

Nope, it is just a blog that is part of a fleet owners website. I assume the data is aggregated from the all the companies tracking their vehicles. I mean, probably take it with a grain of salt but it was interesting selecting the different cars to compare. the Bolt is a little to new and fewer...

    Love my Bolt...HATE the seat!

Many of you may have already heard but the 2021 model year Bolt is refreshed and the big news is supposedly much improved seats!!

Using Chevy Camera as dash cam

It probably isn't that simple. The forward facing camera is dedicated to the safety systems. The computers and software are busy dealing with that. The simple act of recording is quite different. Just like taking a video of the kids baseball game, it will beautifully record a line drive coming...

    Not charging anywhere near 238

Yes, now during winter when I charge at home (level 2) my middle number range estimation is around 120 miles on the 87% hilltop reserve setting, and just over 140 if I let it go to full. I also am not shy keeping the cabin temp about 75 degrees and I often precondition in the morning, sometimes...

    "Check engine" light???

If you have an AutoZone nearby, they'll read the OBDII codes for you (hoping you buy the parts from them). Then just google them.

    Automated Car Wash Mode

That seems like a strange car wash. I'm pretty old and I've never been to one that you don't just sit in the car and wait the 3-4 minutes until it's done pulling you through. Although often I go to a local hand-washed place that dusts and does the mats, now that even a basic gas station wash is...

    Not charging anywhere near 238

Unless I missed it in your post, what are your average outside temps currently? FWIW, my 2017 (23K miles) is getting about 120 set to hilltop mode, and last time I went to full I got 140-something. But our temps are between 5 to upper 30's so far this winter. I got my Bolt last summer and then I...

    OnStar cold weather warning

First time I've gotten this text message but probably normal for our northern friends. But it's my first winter with the Bolt. OnStar: Weather forecast predicts temperatures cold enough to immobilize your vehicle. As a precaution, always keep your vehicle plugged-in when not being driven. Sent...

Wife just vetoed the Bolt due to seats...any new approach

I've also heard that Chevy is eager to get more on the road and will have a great lease deal. So as a BEV you can return in 2-3 years it could be a viable short-term option and by then there will be a lot more choices available, including more used EV's.

Must have Mods for Bolt EV

I also went from a 2010 Mazda 5 to the 2017 Bolt. Obviously Mazda's are known as drivers cars, pretty much every model. I ran all season performance tires on it but they were less good in 5 degree weather and 6 inches of snow obviously since they had a summer bias. The Bolt is a BEV and its...

L mode to D after complete stop

Yes, unfortunately with no mechanical linkage it is easy to toggle between L and D. My wife likes to lay stuff on the console by the shifter and a couple times I have found the car edging forward when I thought I was in L and it would remain in place.

Wife just vetoed the Bolt due to seats...any new approach

Sorry, this is "after purchase" advise but if you search here and elsewhere you'll find a few people that where able to unclip the material and add padding in places that took care of it for them. So I have no doubt that any shop that can do car upholstery would be able to fix it. But really...

    12V Connection Near The Hatchback

I'm not sure I'd tap into something nearby like the tail lamps. Better I think to have a dedicated line/fuse for it but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if it matters either way. I would suggest some research on YouTubers installing those things to glean some info on best practices, or maybe...

Wife just vetoed the Bolt due to seats...any new approach

I could suggest a longer test drive to see if she can live with it but ultimately Chevy did a really poor job on these seats and the padding and frame suck for some body types. I'm not a big guy so I can live with it for the up to 20 minutes I'm in the car at one sitting but it's the worst car...

Must have Mods for Bolt EV

Basically a full summer-only tire, just read the reviews on tirerack.com, etc. as long as you don't care about the significant range decrease. I suspect that almost nobody here would do that as the reason for the Bolt is less vehicle expense and getting as much of the range as possible.

    2020 owners!

Did they do anything about the thinly padded seats that is the #1 complaint of owners? It's pretty much mentioned in every single review of the car since it came out, and is likely to continue to effect sales.
