    Towing behind RV/ regenerative charging

You might want to do some web searches - I seem to recall at least one person saying that the emergency brake auto-turned-on while towing his Bolt, and that it is recommended to disconnect the Bolt's 12V battery when towing to prevent this.

    EV Battery Degradation Comparison Tool

    1) the degradation for a 2013 LEAF is a straight line down to 80% after 6+ years. That's BS. 2) If the data set is small or restricted to "certain climes", it isn't very useful. Again, pretty much BS. Not necessarily *untrue*, just useless. Data on ONE 2013 LEAF driven in Portland OR is useless...

EVGo announces a new partnership with GM for 5 year tripling of stations

They aren't in NYC, or Chicago, or San Francisco. But my point was that you may not have access to 240V at a rental. Charging at 12A/120V is about 1.2W an hour into the battery (assuming around 88% efficiency of the EVSE at 120V). 10 hours of charging would give you 12 kWh a night, 14 would...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

    On cargurus at the moment, a SLEW of 2017 Bolts for $14K (or less) ... $12.8k, 60k miles $13.7k, 66k miles $13.7k, 49k miles $14k, 40k miles $14k, 54k miles $14k, 44k miles $14k, 45k miles $14k, 50k miles $14k, 61k miles $14k, 78k miles { ... skipping a bunch and only looking at lower mileage...

EVGo announces a new partnership with GM for 5 year tripling of stations

This is useful for people living in apartments or rental housing where they cannot modify the electrical setup to add a 240V socket. Also, if in a rental house, one can use a DCFC those times when the battery is below 50% and you want (close to) a full charge overnight but only have a 120V...

Precipitous drop in fully charged range before 90% update

Relying on the "estimated range" is not a very good way to determine your battery capacity. The best way is to buy an "OBD2" dongle to plug into your car, and an app for your smart phone to read and interpret it. 2nd best is to calculate your capacity by doing a FULL charge, then driving for a...

Need tips on traveling from Los Angeles to SF

Personally, I prefer the reliability of ChargePoint, but the real answer is "all the companies with fast chargers along the roads you plan on using". You can sign up for free (I think) with Electrify America (EA) and ChargePoint (CP) and EVgo, then download their apps to show which units are...

    Cameras didn't turn off

I always have the same set of steps when getting in ANY car : 1- open door, sit, blah, blah 2- turn on car (gas: crank engine; EV, push button) 3- BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE, put foot on brake (if not already there) and put on on seatbelt 4- check all dials and gauges on instrument panel...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

Looking at http://www.cargurus.com , prices on used 2017 Bolts are starting at $14K for Bolts w/ 70-90K miles. Setting the filter to < 55k miles, there are some at that price w/ 30-40k miles (many in AZ). Setting the filter to "only within 500 miles of SF" , the are a LOT of Bolts < $16K with...

Range indicator said "Low" then Bolt immediately died.

Have you really put 62K miles on your Bolt in 18 months? Or is that a typo?

    Charging at Electrify America

Electrify America sent me an email : "You asked for it and now it's here! Learn all about our new pricing." Their email talks about how wonderful it is that their pricing (in states where allowed) are moving to per- kWh pricing, instead of per-minute. Also, "in a state not making the switch to...

    Bolt = Big battery?

    - i don't believe that the (current) CCS/SAE standard supports what you are trying to do . (The CHAdeMO std does, BTW).

    Highest Mileage Bolt EV?

Way overpriced, by the way. I did a nationwide search on used Bolts with < 44K miles, and found a bunch for under $17K. Although maybe it is location dependent - most of them were in Calif. I did a search for 200 miles around Everett, WA for used Bolts with <44K miles. I found 2 under $17K...
