EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

EVgo was a subsidiary of NRG (cute name, 'energy'). They started as a subsidiary of a very large power (electric) company that was accused of market manipulations, price fixing and gauging during the ~2000 Calif energy scandal. They were going to be sued by the state, but they came to an...

    Design defect in 110v charger

OR, you could use some of your junk mail to make a white 'tent', with 'flaps' on the sides and use two rocks to hold down the paper so that it doesn't blow away. Then you place the 'tent' over the plug so that it is in the shade. Voilà !!

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

Oh, and EVgo has changed its pricing structure yet again. Currently, 3 plans are available. - No plan (pay as you go) : $2 connection fee, and 28¢ per kWh - "member" :$5 monthly fee (which includes $5 credit towards charging) , no connection fee, and 28¢ per kWh - EVgo plus : $7 month (no...

    free charging at Electrify America

I actually have been ranting about EA. Several rants. For exactly that reason. Maybe not here? Not in a while, that's for sure. However, EA did a much better job than EVgo ever did (EVgo missed every single deadline, over years). I may start ranting about EA again, because I heard rumours (hey...

    Charging At Home

Yes, "capable of". there is wording "with additional equipment". The supplied charge cord doe NOT provide that much current.

    Charging At Home

Caveat : I do NOT have an "EUV". All I have rad about the dual charge cord is that the plug is a 14-50 for 240V, and that it pulls 32A. If that is true, then it is not safe to use on a 30A circuit. The max "continuous" draw (for over 30 mins) on any electrical circuit is 80% of the max rate...

    free charging at Electrify America

I used 4 differnet EA sites (since it was free, I basically used the occasion to try 4 different EA sites near major highway & interstate junctions, so that I know where the sites actually are, and to check that there are no charging problems). I did a "SF East Bay tour" driving north and...

How does ChargePoint work, and any idea as to why this happened?

It's still cheaper than gas (unless you are getting 70 mpg)

Moving on, but loved my Bolt

Yup. I didn't notice. The price I posted was "potential savings" (the default) and not "purchase price" ($38500). Sneaky *******s.

Moving on, but loved my Bolt

I went to the tesla.com web site, and clicked "order now". That was the price that popped up. It might be because I live in CA and maybe there is a discount / rebate from the state that is automatically applied. At any rate, FAR from the $65k someone stated.

VINDICATED: Finally - GM to launch updated vehicle navigation system

I can buy a new phone for less than the GPS option cost in most new cars, AND get free map updates on the phone. Why would I want to buy GPS software for the car when my phone can send map info to the display screen in the car? It is the 21st century.

Moving on, but loved my Bolt

He did say "Tesla Model 3", not "model S". I just checked, and the "standard range plus" model 3 is a tad over $30K (30,690), and not $65K.

My experience with the Grizzl-e EVSE that we bought

I seems to recall that several years ago Enel bought the very small eMotorWerks, (maker of JuiceBox). The experience might not be the same these days, since a multi-national and a small local business just don't run the same way.

First successful charge for new 2020 Bolt Please read

I would say that is true for most charging networks - use their app. While with EA it is almost required (their CC kiosk issues are notorious), it is useful to have the app for ChargePoint and EVgo (for example). At a minimum you can see which fast chargers are in use and which are available for...

Thx Paul. As usual, well written and well thought out.

Should i be concerned with battery degradation?

Using nitrogen is a gimmick. Yes, it leaks out slightly more slowly, but if you check your tires once every 2-3 months, why pay $30-$50 for it? Air is already almost 80% nitrogen.
